Don't grudge Derry it as he is very likable, but think the difference in class will be too much. Despite the draw in their last fight, I can't see this being as competitive as the original one.

Derry comes across as a top bloke but he is probably not even top 5 LW in Britain at the moment so I see this as too big a step up.

He may see the final bell due to his heart and commitment but will lose a very wide decision IMO

 

I can see the gulf in class being too much, but would love to see him land a punch from the gods !

I also hope nobody gives him the 'Paul Smith world title shot' treatment, he's basically stepped in for Crolla and in all fairness to Derry he's been around the block in his career and has put himself in with everyone. He'll give it a real good go as well, all the best to him.

 

Great chance for Derry although I wish it was 2-3-4 years ago when he was in his prime

 

hope he wins. abril though not a big puncher is a good fighter and Derry has been stopped by a lot lesser fighters, but he will give it his all and that's all you can ask

 

U never know abril might look past him Derry could land monster shot but can't see it tbh. like the guy hope he does well great opportunity he will know he won't ever get again

 

I like Matthews, because he is always in a entertaining fight. Like a UK Gatti.

But Abril will clinch him to death. UD for the boring Cuban.

I agree its a step up but I don't really rate abril, everyone would give derry a chance of some sort against the likes of burns and Mitchell but both of those beat abril easy imo
