Are there any competitive fights for Andre Ward at 168?

    Would be interesting to see but I think Wards inside game and strength wears Groves down and he beats him handily

    Pretty sure he said he and Dirrell are friends and won't be fighting.

    He could do a Klitscko and defend the title against every mandatory or conteder that step in, but He won't do that His ex promoters basically went on their knees and prayed Ward to at least accept Edwin Rodriguez and Rodriguez was highly ranked by that time with a recent tourney win.

    Ward new more real good fighters on his resume, i can think of Kessler & Froch. AA & Dawson are good names as well, but i would like him to take on: Dirrell, DeGale, Chavez Jr, Golovkin

    There are fights to be made at 168lbs against the up and comers but none of them are the PPV fight he's looking for and I doubt any of them would be competitive. He's head a shoulders above anyone else at 168lbs.

    Groves, Degale, Anthony Dirrel, and Andre Dirrell are all tough fights that he could lose. Gilberto Ramirez is on the way up too. Chavez is a big money fight even after Froch picks him apart. The winner of a Sturm-Steiglitz rematch would be a safe way to get out of Oakland and make some money in Germany.

    GGG and Alvarez weigh about 3lb less than Ward does, so those matchups are serious PPV fights for the near future.

    So 9 fights at present.

    If he moved to 175 he could get Pascal, Bute, Stevenson, and Kovalev, and those fights can all wait.

    He's best off waiting at 168 until after he fights GGG, Alvarez, and Chavez.

    I really think Groves and Degale present 60-40 fights for Ward, if not 50-50. They're fast, he won't hurt them, and they've got decent-to-very-good skills.

    Groves could stop him imo...

    Probably not but Ward Chudinov, Ward Callum and Ward Gilberto would be potentially interesting.

    groves has looked damned average since froch sparked him.

    bear in mind though we haven't seen ward fight at top level for years, and realistically he's gonna have to travel for big fights.
