For the WBO 130lb title, acquired by Salido last year in a knockdown-laden, fiercely pitched battle with Terdsak Jandaeng. Martinez previously held this same belt twice (2009-2010 and 2012-2013). Rocky is 3-0 (1) in his nation's capital of San Juan. Siri is 1-0 (1), knocking out JuanMa Lopez there in their rematch.
Think Salido takes this. Shame Salido Vs Miura hasn't been made that would have been awesome. For what it's worth I think Martinez is done.
If you look at who Miura has been linked to he could be taking on almost anyone...Gamboa, Jhonny Gonzalez, the winner of tomorrows fight, Stephen Smith, Takashi Uchiyama...
You'd think, right?? (and in fact I did, when he struggled with Haya of all people...and when Mikey schooled him) But Roman beat him to it, methinks.
IB, think you could spare me a few thousand V-cash points? I will take you to v-dinner tomorrow:hey Otherwise Bartholomeus to you:bart
Salido's a tough *******, Martinez is a lanky fighter, but with underrated power. Both are not hard to find and easily lured into wars. This one should be good while it lasts!
I've always liked Martinez and think he's underrated despite his string of questionable performances. I guess I expect Salido to win the majority of the first 2/3 and then Martinez to take a few rounds toward the end resulting in a 115-113 type of Salido UD... But this is a great match up because any result wouldn't exactly surprise me other than Salido getting blasted out real early (but maybe not even that since Weng Haya [or whatever] almost did it in their unexpectedly good fight between the Juanma battles and I don't fancy Salido has gotten better in any capacity).
