    Round 8

Monroe is floating his right jab, then disappearing from off the ropes with sideward dives as Vera comes in with pecking left jabs and wild uppercuts drawn from the hip as he drags his rear leg in, shifting all his weight onto his left insole. Monroe booms a left into Vera's face while dancing around him. Quick combo on the nose by Monroe, ducking and pushing away with his gloves off Vera's waist. Vera lunges down with a body jab, missing badly as Monroe jumps aside, landing a speedy counter combo up top.

    10-9 Monroe

    79-72 Monroe

:patsch Atlas goes on some tangent and comes back to calling the action, having no idea wtf is happening, and says Vera is getting back into this because Monroe isn't doing enough - then Monroe continues doing exactly what he's been doing the whole time Atlas wasn't paying attention (landing big clusters of counter-punches on the face as Vera misses wildly), Tessitore saying as much, and then Atlas freaking agrees with him as though he were already making exactly that point.

    What a slimeball.

Yeah, that's a whole lot of bounce for him to not be tired after eight.

    Round 9

Monroe is sticking the left hand lead, fading back away from Vera's plunging right and sweeping up a right hook on the jawline. Monroe is leading Vera all around the ring in zigzag fashion, ducking, moving laterally while down low, coming up with jabs and backing up to line up the left hand. Vera keeps stomping along, never coming near enough to land anything meaningful.

    10-9 Monroe

    89-81 Monroe
