Imagine what Rigondeaux would do to LSC, it'd be a total schooling.

Thing is, Ruiz isn't a bad fighter. By Mexican domestic standards (and Mexico's domestic scene beats most other countries', it must be said, as big as the sport is down there and with the abundance of tough hombres filling out the deep talent pool) he is quite good.

He just has absolutely no business right now being in a world title bout, and isn't on this level. Leo Miranda (kind of the featherweight version of Marco Rubio, but a poor man's version) is a decent win, as is the KO in the Ruben Tamayo rematch, but nothing on his resume puts him near a world title.

Is Schaeffer sitting back to the left of his former employer? That would be slightly uncomfortable for Oskie.

I seem to remember Rigo on his ass twice in his last fight.

His loss to Esquivel is as telling as anything...Omori schooled Esquivel and is about #6 at 118 in Japan

    Round 1

Santa Cruz is covering up as Ruiz jabs and whips in left hooks under the tightly tucked elbows. Santa Cruz answers with his own drumming body combos, working the uppercut with both hands. Straight right by Santa Cruz backing Ruiz up. 1-2-3 on the head by Santa Cruz. Ruiz lands several body shots. 1-2 and uppercut in succession by Santa Cruz, unanswered.

    10-9 Santa Cruz
