Thats the best out there. Before the post fight interview I thought there might be a chance over here. Now Im not so sure. Wilder sees himself as the American hero now,I think. But if it does, winner to fight Wlad in a unification. And I think whoever that was would have a chance.
I dont agree hes a KO waiting to happen, but his last win was Mike Sprott. After this win,Wilder has proved the doubters wrong. Aj needs to step it up this year. 2015 hasn't started well with the Johnson fight off.
Ted I am very tempted to agree with you.Wilder may very well be the future of this division.my only reservation is that Stiverne didn't really give us an insight how they other really big boxers Vlad,Tyson Joshua would fair against him....these are like him all athletically built and carry a big whack. It might just come down to who lands first and who has the best punch resistance.
I wouldn't get too carried away with Wilders performance last night. Stiverne reminded me of a Chisora with Dreads. He was very poor. Wilder leaves himself so open when he starts trowing wild looping hooks. His hooks are very powerful when they land but he is definitely there for the taking.
Awful fight. Stiverne was simply dreadful; he was like a poor man's Derek Chisora. I'm not entirely sure what can be gauged from the fight other than the absolute farce that allowed Stiverne to become world champion - who's his best win? Chris Arreola? It was a like a glorified sparring match - and imo that's entirely dure to Stivernes lacklustre performance rather than anyway match winning skill used by Wilder.
Americans behind Wilder.. Brits behind Fury.. Big Brother's #2 and Shannon Briggs in the frame. Especially both of them are American now.. makes business sense.
Aliens behind Lennox Lewis and Wladimir Klitschko and George Foreman (if you check minus Tyrell Biggs he was the last non Cuban unlimited #1) That's why there was room for Larry Holmes and co etc.. and the great Mike Tyson.
Sasha & Fury would smack Wilder. Joshua will destroy him in a couple of years… Look even the americans aren't buzzed about having a HW champion, because they know how sh*t he is.
Wilder was a bit better than I expected. Stiverne was less than I hoped for, still a very solid hw pro, but fell short with his punches. That is the same issue Pov is going to have at 6'2". I think he can get inside him though, as he did Takam.
