Once the top referee in the sport, Bayless is now dangerously close to being one of the worst... CLEARLY PAID OFF in Mayweather-Maidana 2 and horrible stoppage last night clearly meant to raise LSC's falling stock in the face of the Rigondeaux ducking fiasco.

    :-(

Yeah I didn't like that stoppages and what he did in the MW Maidana 2 fight was disgraceful

I'm not seeing it. I think Bayless is one of the best out there. It was a good stoppage with Ruiz. Ruiz was too tough for his own good. If he had rocked LSC I might agree with you but LSC was never hurt and Ruiz was hit hard a number of times. Kenny is still solid in my book.

What about it? The rules were all enforced.

It was a great job by Bayless.

Tony Weeks was a disgrace for their 1st fight, kept letting Maidana get off the dirty tactics.

    Headbutting, kneeing, low blows. :patsch:patsch

Note to all fighters: don't let a guy hit you 15 to 20 times in a row and then protest afterward.

If you've got your wits about you and you're on the take like a speed bag, punch back ... or clinch ... or move. If you're OK, take it out of the ref's hands and actually engage your opponent and defend so you aren't getting hit repeatedly.

It's a pretty simple formula ... unless, of course, a guy isn't able to fight back and only has enough wits about him to protest after he's stopped.

I'd have to say I agree with the OP at this point. Bayless used to be pretty reliable, but over the past few years he's shown some favoritism, made some bad knockdown calls(take a look at the Gomez vs Paredes fight), and has been stopping fights too early. I'm confident LSC would have stopped Ruiz last night. But Ruiz still had some fight in him when the fight was stopped and was actually trying to land a counter when Bayless stepped in. It's not a good look when that kind of stoppage occurs.

You know what is interesting about a ref, if you watch them carefully, if they are biased, they almost always give away who they are favoring. In the middle of the ring, just prior to the fight when the ref is talking to the fighters, telling them to keep it clean, a biased ref will almost always look almost exclusively at the guy he DOES NOT favor. Kind of like, "I'm watching you and you better not do any BS."

I thought it was a good stoppage, no need to see some one take unnecessary punishment. Op is just a troll, if you been around boxing, then you would know in gyms and sparring saftey is priority. Op is just a troll fan who is only interested in phone booth fights and does not understand boxing. In other words, he is a casual.

His argument on PAC vs Floyd is "he won't fight Manny toe to toe" , his pathetic comment just shows his lack of knowledge in boxing. Some people here should really just go to ufc.

not always. Joe Cortez would "tell" Floyd but then suck his hole in the ring

Yea I was saying Bayless seems to give the house fighter quick stoppages. The guy was still fighting back.

Bayless did and always does a great job at referring. He never changes his style and doesn't play favorites.

Pacquiao-Mosley. Mosley was awarded a KD and 10-8 round for bodyslamming Pac. Even Mosley looked EMBARRASSED.
