I never thought Pulev had a chance. The only guy I reasoned could beat Wlad based on athleticsm and ability is David Haye. Unfortunately, David Haye chose to rely on an outside counterpunching strategy rendering him as having only a puncher's chance. Haye realized this and incorporated new training techniques and strategies such as when he beat Chisora by staying in the pocket, similar to Rocky Marciano. Unfortunately, there is no Marciano, Tyson or Dempsey around in this era, but there is another style that can beat Wlad. That is Wilder. Wilder has the tools and will eventually prove to have the ability to beat Wilder. Styles make fights.
So in that fight Wlad vs Jefferson, the second one goes straight to clinch but still Wlad find a way, but no one say how Jefferson was cheating and go straight to clinch and blq, blq, blq .... Also dino, you need a glasses moron in Wlad - Brewster 2 fight there was exactly 12 clinches for the whole fight. Thats make a 2 clinch per round. Once again you show how much knowledge you have about boxing - zero !!!
That Dinore**** is still here?? he's a purest moron and all of his predictions were wrong because he ksab
Yeah, two undersized power punching swarmers with the same style trained by the same guy. Shocking. Mike Tyson is greatner than Povetkin, but we aren't talking levels of greatness here, we are talking styles and physical attributes as if there is some magic combination that Wlad will be rattled by when he's already seen it all in his long career. I compared Fury to Thompson and McCline, who actually have gone the distance alot like Wlad so not sure what you are talking about. Wilder is the same thing everyone was saying about Pulev just last year. Athletic tall guy that Wlad supposedly can't outjab and clinch. And the Jefferson ****ogies are also spot on who was a 6'7" power puncher with decent speed. Will you be a man and own up to being wrong, IF this fight actually happens?
I think Wilder will get stopped against Wladimir but anything is possible as he has the power to make Wladimir go all over the place.
Povetkin has absolutely no aggressive defense. The whole precept behind Tyson's success outside of his obvious physical ability was his utilization of an aggressive, counterpunching style of defense. They are not in the same league. Povetkin is a big target. Wilder is nothing like Pulev. The first time I saw Pulev fight was during the Wlad fight. First of all, Pulev stands right in front of his opponent. Secondly, Pulev is a big, immobile target to start with. He's heavyset and is incapable of the agility a guy of Wilder's build and athleticism is capable of. However, I will say that I saw some of Wlad's weaknesses exposed. Now, that could be because Wlad is getting older or maybe he didn't take that fight seriously or he had a bad training camp. It could be anything, but I've held for a long time now that Wlad would not be able to beat a guy like Wilder if Wilder were to mature into the elite level of boxing. Wilder is showing that maturity and after he disposes of guys like Fury and Jennings, he will be ready to take on Wladimir. Wladimir is ill-equipped to deal with Wilder.
Pulev is not as athletic as Wilder. Not even close. The guy is listed as 6'4 but looks at least 3-4 Inches shorter than Wlad.
Hmmm...think I'll take Wlad's superior experience, timing, sharper technique and shorter punches all day long and twice on Sundays :yep I reckon the fight will not happen til next year at the earliest, that is, if Wilder can continue to win. He still has much to prove against other top level HWs.
Much like Tyson, Povetkin is certainly not a big target when he respects his opponent's power, Wlad and Takam both had a very hard time finding him at range. All the things being said about Wilder now, was being said about Pulev before the Wlad fight. And frankly I don't see this superior athleticism and movement, Wilder slowed considerably after the initial rounds. You talk a big game, I hope you give Wlad due respect if he proves you wrong. Again we've seen this promise many times on this board, and it is time to put it to rest. Sultan, Haye, Peter, Povetkin, Pulev...all these guys were supposed to be the X Factor that Wlad's style was all wrong for.
yep... you are right... my own eyes lied to me when I watched Wilder get wobbled and down during training camp:yep
At the present, Pulev has demonstrated better mobility, footwork, jab, and stamina than Wilder. Wilder appears to pack a harder punch. Like most guys, Wilder will also looker shorter than listed against Wlad. Remember 6'6" Austin looking 2 inches shorter?
I've seen Pulev, and his jab is highly inferior to Wilders. The guy is a good fighter but not what I would call an athlete. I've also seen pictures of of Wlad standing next to Wilder and Wilder has a good 2 inches on him. Don't take my words for it, judge for yourself.
