He's done about the same as them at this point. You can't count his accomplishments before his two losses. Molina, Diaz, and Collazo aren't good enough. The Alexander fight IMO put him in the conversation. So get rid of the "done a hell of a lot more than" line, because he hasn't.

Khan has had a very carefully crafted career where he has avoided punchers and still has been savagely KOed and knocked down multiple times. He is a coddled fraud who is one more KO away from retirement. Along with his Glass Jaw he has no Ring IQ or power to keep his opponents honest.
I think he's a decent backup, but that's based on stylistic matchup alone. I wouldn't care if they don't fight.
It's cause they want mayweather to fight a different styled fighter. mayweather is use to brawlers charging at him. People want to see him againist a fast moving boxer - pacquio or khan. It's pretty much cause people think he'd provide a very good challenge for mayweathers undefeated record.
