Gerry Callan is a boxing journalist for the Star who tried to imply it was like two men having ***, he is a dinosaur so im not surprised as old people are stuck in there ways, the fool from the Seanad tried to claim it was like WWE and reults were pre determined but she was soon put back in her box as she then admitted she never had seen a fight, as for "thuggish behavior", it is far from thuggish behavior it is the opposite, it requires absolute dedication and these lads are good role models for kids as opposed to drug dealers and real thugs !

 

I wouldnt call Gerry Callan a dinosaur because he doesnt like MMA. :deal A strange comment to make.:-(

Ok THAT Gerry Callan. He would be credible. He has led off a good few credible boxing stories, including the Lee-Quillin saga recently. The one I broke on here ahead of him only to be dismissed by all ye UFC fans remember...

Young kids can't tell the difference between real violence and cartoon violence these days, mostly due to garbage like MMA. These MMA goons are not good role models. Grow up.

Not because he dosent like it but because he likened it to two men riding each other in a national paper, but I suppose ye have to be able to have an eye for that type of thing to see that in it, I used to think Callan was a good journo.

Theres nothing wrong with having no intrest in it but I think its pure ignorance to call it thuggish behaviour, not a sport and calling for it to be banned especially when boxing fans know what its like for idiots to say similar things about boxing and the irony of a boxing fan calling MMA thuggish but I wouldnt expect anything less from you len.

well, you are entitled to your opinion fella....like i said, not that my opinion is worth anything, i'm not a fan of mma...but thats not to say i have negative feelings about it....i can understand how its fans love it, and it has to be a very skillful sport, who's champions deserve the respect the fans give them.

 

Great you can take a joke, Doug. :thumbsup no offence was intended. Years ago I used to work with a fella named Doug who had very small ears. Needless to say I couldn't resist calling him..".Lugless Douglas". Felt more than a twinge of guilt when he got cancer and died in his 30s with young kids.

Bloody hell life is pretty ****ty for some people, innit? You have to have a laugh while you can. That much I do know. But that MMA is no good for kids to be watching, IMO.
One more thing.. Don't be saying things like "....Not that my opinion is worth anything..."...from reading your sensible posts on here I reckon your opinion worth plenty, and is as good as anyone's, and probably better than most.

I dont like the rolling about on the floor sh!te :barf, find it a little disturbing to see grown "straight" men getting excited about it [now two girls rolling about on each other I can enjoy that].
