Looks like Andy v quillin is made foy new york in April, will i put your name on the bus lencoreastside???????:good:good:happy:good:good
Well considering It was me that broke the news first on here, I suppose you should. Delighted for Andy..and Quillin was the "big name" I always wanted for Andy, and I have been consistently saying Andy has a realistic chance against Chocco Pops all along.
Well Marty looks like my first big call of the New Year has come true. Beat your man Calorgas Callan to the story too! Not bad for someone who 'talks sh!te' eh? ::rasta You said it wouldn't happen, remember? Anyway I'm relieved you don't like MMA, but it's gas the reason you give...the same reason everyone else on here said too...about grown men grunting and rolling and sweating etc. yere all gas men. Only I give the real reason to dislike it...
why do you think sheehan and o neil have bulked up to such heavier weights than they have performed before.... sheehan isnt the tallest he must be like a tank now... cant see him retaining his good movement that hes known for.... sum really good fites on here... looks like a case of beer and a nite infront of the telly is called for this friday:good
I go for Metcalf, Bates and Sheehan but I'm not bullish. O'Reilly must be the reason the boys moved up but Sheehan has gone from 69 to 81 in a few years.
Those are three tight ones alright, Roy allegedly only strted trining 3 weeks ago so thats why he is 81k id imagine, thats why i went for tinker, Its Rio or nothing for Darren and oreilly at 75 is a very tough proposition and Joe is 90% sure to get irelands 81k olympic place before the summer through APD so 91 was the only real option, Not to sure about it,should win friday but international heavyweight in a diffrent thing all together,Kenny Egan tried it and it didnt go too well, There should be some good fights friday alright,
Hey Leonardo how's it hanging, man? I'm a bit like yourself, dog you'll never get me going " Oh Chuck the Iceman is in the Cage with Tito the bawbag Ortiz, so lets crack open a few Black n Tans". Although I understand what you're saying, I would never tell kids not to watch MMA. I've been to these MMA gyms (even the odd show) and while I don't like the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu it IS very disciplined. I've seen young boys and girls who are about 16/17 year old who are dedicated and respectful, and lets put it this way they could be into a lot worse things at their age. In fact I would encourage the young ones to get along to the nearest possible MMA gym and take part. No matter your age or whether you want to compete or not it's a great enjoyable way to get fit and learn self respect. IMHO the pure MMA drills are awesome, so get yourself along and enjoy it, you don't know what you're missing, Lenny :good
Howdy doody Ryan. I don't doubt what you say for a minute. There are massive benefits, fitness discipline etc....No doubt. I'm not saying MMA in it self "causes violence", just that a lot of kids, well some kids anyway, the less disciplined ones, not the ones you are seeing working hard in the gyms, often can't tell the difference between cartoon violence, virtual violence and real violence. I was just winding up MMA fans s bit too, if I'm honest. :tong Happy (not so) New year! :thumbsup
looking for a wee bit of help please. I am looking for a contact for patrick myler (irish boxing historian) thanks
Happy new year Lads!! Quigg, over at the scene saying he'd beat Frampton. I personally don't see how he does, haven't seen too much of him but from what I have he needs a reality check. What do you reckon? Looks like Lee and kid club milk is close, 50/50 fight but would favor Andy with his recent activity.
It's hard to say. The top guys are so inactive these days, they have very few fights, they never fight each other, or a whole lot of common opponents, so it is very hard to say how one guy would do against the other. There is no proper yardstick to go by. Going by achievements to date, I would favour Frampton. But quigg is not without advantages, particularly physical ones. He is bigger, taller, longer etc. he is really a featherweight-sized Superbantam. As for Andy v Chocco pops....in a "fair" fight, neutral venue etc Andy Would definitely have a 50:50 chance. But it looks like the fight is going to be in the US....the home of corrupt judging. Andy will find it very hard, almost impossible, to win on points. So it's win by ko or lose the title. I wish him all the best and I hope he can win. But I have to be realistic about it. While it is not impossible, the odds have to be against Andy pulling it off. To be blunt Andy is basically "selling" the title back to Quillin for $1,000,000. ( a bit like barker did with sturm)....
