There will likely be a 'heads of agreement' that the fighters agree to first, outlining the terms - this will certainly have been done by now for a may fight, and is likely what Pacquiao is referring to have signed. This will however be contingent on the networks reaching an agreement in a separate deal. Then the long form will be drawn up from all of the points made in the aforementioned agreements.

    :good

So in short, there is an agreement that should've happened by now (which Pacquiao already agreed to everything on), but Mayweather hasn't which is stalling this fight.

We should be having the two best fights this year in Cotto vs Canelo and Mayweather vs Pac, but instead, we'll probably end up having Mayweather vs Cotto 2 :patsch

There can't be a signed contract unless somehow somebody convinced him to sign a partially blank contract. Things that HBO/Showtime can't agree on right now can't possibly be properly spelled out on a contract for obvious reasons.

I don't doubt that he wants the fight. But there are too many pieces involved and Manny's personal power in negotiations based on his career and what he says are weak to be polite.

He's backing up everything Ariza is saying how the fight was nonexistent the entire time, it'll never happen as long as Arum is involved. Ariza knows who Floyd is fighting May 2 and it isn't Manny...so on so forth.

Wth man. I love boxing, but I f***** hate it too.

While it is highly disappointing, the emotion wore off on me over 2 years ago. And I thought I was late to the party of being "over it."

Between the four of them, Cotto will end up facing the best fighter of the bunch so can't fault him for going for glory. Mayweather will end up fighting the better opponent (Cotto II) than whom Alvarez and Pacquiao face, as usual (Alvarez:Kirkland,Clottey and Pacquiao:Mikey,Provodnikov,Alvarado, etc).

What Manny has done with his negotiating power is RUIN Mayweather PR. Ruined it, murdered it. Mayweather is body bagged. Top Rank and Pac have done such a great job at it that EVEN IF Arum caused the fight to fall, the public would call it an excuse by Floyd...that's how well they've destroyed his public perception.

That's a pretty strong negotiating power if you ask me. Because, it makes fans, and even some of his own, turn on him and hurt his PPV numbers. Especially if these negotiations fall through. It'll be a nightmare for both of their PPV's next fight.

Every single person who has info or close to the people involve are all saying the same thing. Its close blah blah blah, even the reps of both HBO and SHO are ironing out who televises what. The other fighter goes out on an aggressive campaign in the US.

And then there's Floyd, who called off the fight? :patsch
I guess every single one of those people apart from Arum are all pawns then?

    This is just sad.:tired

Him blaming Arum is a cop out. Why even negotiate or set demands if you are so bound and determined to not deal with Arum? Did he suddenly remember who represented Pacquiao halfway through the negotiations? I'm sorry, Arum just seems like a convenient foil for Mayweather.

That said, I'd prefer it if Arum would just shut the hell up and make the deal work out like a professional. So much cat fighting.
