This guy is going for it.

    I didn't think he'd fight Trout
    I didn't think he'd fight Lara
I was hoping, but didn't think he'd fight Kirkland

Good for Canelo. This is a very dangerous fight

Yeah, I like Canelo - he is not afraid to risk his golden goose status to win over the boxing public by giving them what they want. Gotta commend that.

I am mixed on Canelo. He fought the opponents the fans wanted, yes but only on his terms and it was obvious he has had favorable judges too. Fighting Kirkland pleases hardcore fans...but it is kind of a dumb fight to take. He won't get much credit for beating a guy with 2 fights in 3 and a half years. If Kirkland sparks him with a lucky shot he loses so much steam.

Kirkland is tailor made for Canelo. Easy victory. Kirkland has no chin and no D. Not much of an opponent if you ask me. Exciting opponent? Yes. One that will test him? Hardly.

I would feel better about this fight if Kirkland was more active the last couple of years.

    Kirkland is a risk? :rofl:rofl:rofl

Kirkland is one of the most overhyped bums in boxing.

He's 24 now so he should be hitting his stride. There are room for improvements, but for fans and haters alike, they give this kid his props. He's not Chavez or Sanchez-level type status, but I give the kid his props for trying. Kirkland is a beast, won't make it easy, but I think Canelo blasts him with the quicker hands. If they go toe to toe, it won't be a wise move, but then again, I won't be against it!:D

He is a risk, in that there is zero reward. Kirkland has power and Canelo can be hit. Speed wise they are equal.

I love kirkland as an action fighter, but I can't believe people are acting like canelo is so "brave" to take this fight. This is a cherry pick for canelo.

Canelo wanted cotto because he knows cotto is old and shopworn. He was gonna fight clottey because clottey is old. Now he wants kirkland because kirkland is known to be "exciting" but kirkland has severe defensive liabilities.

But canelo refuses to give rematches to trout, who arguably beat him, and lara who clearly beat him. canelo is a stinking coward who deserves no props whatsoever.

If fmj was to pick kirkland as his next defense, haters would run him out of town... but canelo gets praise for the same thing? no wonder boxing is so disrespected these days.
