If he has no legacy then why do you want him to fight Pac?

Its usually the same trolls that turn a perfectly good thread into a mud slinging contests, you mods dont have the ***** to get rid of these clowns.
Or is it you dont get rid of them because you want the traffic in here?????

Um, neither. Pretty lazy logic there. Do you have any idea how many troll alts have been banned? They just keep spawning, and spawning, and spawning.

4-5 part-time mods can't really keep a lid on it. Hell, I'm not sure twice as many patrolling the boards round-the-clock would be able to. We do our best.

The easier thing to do rather than pick through post by post to delete the spam/trolling and ban the offenders is to simply cauterize threads on this particular subject, like a limb infected with gangrene, for the good of the rest of the body (forum).

It's one subject. Does it suck that intelligent reasonable objective posters can't have intelligent reasonable objective discussion of what, yes, is the big talking point in boxing over the last half-decade or more? Yes, it sucks. But the alternative is letting the trolls win. There's really no middle ground, given the resources of time & energy that we have at our disposal. Well-intentioned threads and good, sound posts getting swept up with the trash is a necessary evil. There is so much to this sport beyond the May-Pac drama. For 99% of all threads visible on the first couple of pages on the General Forum to be dedicated to it (many with misspellings, bad grammar, petty childish name-calling, vulgarity, etc) just makes this place look terrible. At the end of the day, however sore you may feel about not being able to discuss the May-Pac saga with other "normal" people on here, surely you can see the greater good served by this lobster-trap method...especially since there are no mods that can reliably be on here all day every day to otherwise ensure quality-control sifting through each and every post.

I thought you mods had the ability to ban an IP address?

Thankyou for addressing this issue with me IB, none of the other mods would bother.
I see what your point of view on it, though I think that as a whole, mods do a terrible job around here.

    One last thing IB?
Gettting banned around here for bypassing forum filters?

Spelling out Pac**** gets you banned around here???
    Thats crazy! :nut

Well yeah but pretty much everyone knows how to use a free proxy server nowadays to circumvent an IP ban (most have known for years) so those are kind of a waste of time. Mostly we just ban usernames and hope the person doesn't come back, although of course they always do. The urge to spam the boards with trolling nonsense is strong in these whackos. :-(

Well, everybody does what they think is best, independent of the rest. Each mod has their own distinct style and way of handling things, and their own idea of what's important.

I agree, but actually those calls are made by the site admin, not any of the mods. (though some mods do enforce the word filters by issuing bans when people attempt bypassing them)

Like I said, we don't necessarily all share the same views or methods - but we are each doing what strikes us as best for the forum.

How many people does admin consist of? One guy or a group like with the mods?

There are two. One guy (the one that owns EastSideBoxing) sold it to his buddy (the one that owns BoxingNews24) but they both were and still are site admins.

They don't come around much, and they don't really communicate with any of the mods. They just swoop in sometimes, make a few policy changes or issue some mysterious bans, and then peace out again. They're like forces of nature.

In 30-40 years boxing fans will say: "Floyd Mayweather wasn't that the guy that refused to fight the ATG Pacquiao".
