Well no, because he's on the verge of retiring. Did SRL defend his belt at 160 after he beat it from Hagler? No, he went up.

If May goes back down and fights and beats Pac afterwards, you know how much of a resume boost these two fights will give him?

3 weight lineal world champion simultaneously. :think

    No it doesn't.

That's just what idiots think. And plus, we've seen many call him that. So your point is MOOT.

TMT cheerleading squad? If he fights Cotto he's taking the easy road to 160 and that's extremely cheap.

    Didn't Cotto do that?

IMO, more than half the forum thought him destroying Martinez like that was a great feat.

If that's the case, then May beating him would also be great, right?

Against the guy who won his lineal MW title in a catchweight fight against a guy on his last leg (literally) himself. As I said it is no wonder boxing's popularity in the US is going down, the fans get ripped off with bull**** fight after bull**** fight.

You can moan about EE fighters all you want, atleast they want to make fights happen.

The funny thing is if he wins the title. Golovkin will be calling him out and the Mayweather circle jerk will complain about how Golovkin is picking on him because he's too small. But he's the middleweight champion.

I understand the points but surely, he could lose to cotto. I know its unlikely but still possible + he's gotta pay cotto a fair amount of money & wnt make nowhere near as much as fighting pacquiao.

Only an idiot would think Cotto's win over a physically shot Martinez was great. All Cotto did was give another smoke and mirrors opportunity to a smoke and mirrors fighter

You know as well as I that a certain fight will never happen.

I wouldnt call it a resume boost, because everyone knows the circumstances.

SRL gets props for going up and beating Hagler because it was Hagler. Not because of a title, lineal or otherwise. Everyone knows Cotto isnt even close to the best at 160, where everyone knows Hagler was the best at 160. The worth of a belt is only as good as its holder, and Cotto rematch isnt worth a fraction of Hagler legacy wise.

Props though for admitting Floyd would never step near GGG.

According to various news outlets, Mayweather is expected to announce his position with the Pacquiao fight next week at Crown Casino in Australia. I've even heard the word "press conference" thrown around.

To them, yes. Otherwise they're hypocrites. But not to me.
Don't make this a US vs Euro deal.
If Mayweather earns the middleweight strap, then Mayweather vs Golovkin is fair game.

Now you're just reaching, when have I ever suggested that he would ever AVOID GGG

He's leaving boxing and him fighting Cotto at 60 then Pac would solidify his resume as one of the greatest ATG's.

    He's not dodging any man.

Cotto has looked like a new man since his pairing with Roach, everyone has been saying this. If May wins decisively, that will add to his resume. Not to a Hagler extend of course, but it would boost it.
