Yeah. It does make you wonder how it would've gone with Roach in the corner the first time.

Not to mention he looks stronger at middle. (though, of course, he fought a welterweight and the badly depleted and legless Martinez so gauging his strength at the weight and not falling into an illusion trap is tricky)

Yeah the betting line. I noticed you and Scar (I believe) think Sergio was completely shot but somehow manage to give Cotto plenty of credit for the win, how is that possible? If I thought someone were completely shot I could not give someone credit for beating them.

 

Can't recall about JLC, (wasn't betting back then) I think Maidana stayed the same, not sure, wasn't betting against Floyd regardless.

 

I don't give him "plenty" of credit, not sure where you're getting that, I think he showed up like a professional ready to rumble and took care of business.

Cotto's form on the night was excellent, and Martinez was obviously way less than 100%, both of which facts colluded to make it a total mismatch.

I give Cotto some credit. As far as coming in shape, with the right game plan, and doing to Martinez what he needed to given how much resistance Martinez put up. I've never for a second acted like Cotto dethroned a prime Maravilla. The injury specifically and wear & tear in general on Sergio played a big part in what a spanking that was, as much as Cotto himself being a wrecking ball that night.

 

I actually think cotto looked very good under pedro.

It happened, and it wasn't super flattering.

 

Well, comparatively speaking with others who think Sergio was shot, they manage to give Cotto absolute zero credit. And yeah, I got you, thanks for explaining.
