    Fitzsimmons.

And 154 is relatively new, as is the 4 belts situation.

So ask yourself how many fighters that could have made 154 with a day-before weigh in beat one of the top 4 heavyweights, and you have a fair comparison. The answer is more than a few.

Also, I enjoy how we're on page 4 and nobody has even attempted to refute the list. Yet here we are talking about Evander Holyfield again because Royboys know they have no leg to stand on.

How many have done it in Roy's era?

He fought as a JMW in 1991.

Then at 34, he dominated Ruiz with ease.

The only thing that pi$$es people off, is that Roy didn't do any more at the weight.

Now how can you ask people to debate with you, when you think that win is meaningless?

    You're a biased hater.

You do not want a discussion on Roy's career.

If you did, this could be a great thread.

    But you're not interested.

You don't even realise how silly you're being.

Dismissing the Ruiz win, then asking why he didn't fight Roch etc?

As though a win over Roch, would have been anywhere near as good as the win over Ruiz.

    :patsch

Seriously, why do you think that is?

I've answered most of those points on your other thread, and I've given you the sources.

Yet you just completely dismissed them.

So why should I go to the trouble again?

If you were a man, on your other thread, you'd have said things such as 'fair enough Loudon, I didn't realise that etc'

    But you're not a man.

I post you the HBO video, and his network was being biased.

I post you the Holyfield link, and you say you never mentioned him.

I post you the Liles link, and you start talking about Chuck Norris.

    So what's the point?

How can any of us debate with you?

    You've got serious issues.

You've hammered him in your other thread, where I've countered everything you've said.

I must have posted about 8/9 links altogether, that you've completely ignored.

Yet instead of answering them in an adult manner, you've made another thread, and asked the same questions.

    Your thought process is simple.

Whoever Roy didn't face, was due to Roy ducking them.

Now if we applied that same criteria for every fighter, then every guy would have ducked 20-30 guys who fought around their weight classes in the same era.

OK, im sure all these have already been mentioned because I haven't read all 4 pages.

    But...

Eubank NEVER wanted to fight Jones when Eubank was in any way relevant. He only started calling out Jones after he had been beaten a few times and towards the end of his career. He openly admits he didn't want any of Jones.

Collins DID want to fight Jones, but they were rarely in the same weightclass. The occasion that many Jones haters bring up was when Collins called out Jones after the Frazier fight. At athat point Collins had been retired for 2 years, and had NEVER fought above 168.
Jones, instead went on to fight and completely dominate 175 title holder Reggie Johnson who had beaten Collins.

Benn also seemed to want the match, but admitted himself that it was very difficult to make due to the politics behind it( Don King being an obstructionist). Benn also said on TV that he "didn't mind being considered 2nd best to Jones"

    Rocchigiani....who cares

Michaelscewski: Never seemed interested in coming to America to fight and Jones wasn't interested in going to Germany. So DM was as much at fault as anyone.

Come on now. It was a complete paper title in every sense of the word.

Let's not pretend he won anything meaningful at HW.

He beat a top 10 guy who happened to hold a complete paper title.

How many moved up and fought a trinket beltholder instead of THE champion? 0. You nuthuggers are not comparing apples to apples. What Jones did was the equivalent of Spinks moving up and fighting Berbick or Tim Witherspoon and not Larry Holmes. It was meaningless.

All the other guys that moved up had the guts to fight THE champion. That is the difference. Roy didn't make history.

How do you like that little history lesson? Some of you need to invest in a vast DVD collection like I have (over 3,000 fights and counting) and actually watch the history of the sport.
