Yes, Kirkland is a risk. Guaranteed Cotto wouldn't fight Kirkland.

It's an exciting fight. Yes Kirkland is not active but he looked good in his last fight. He is also in my humble opinion underrated because of the Ishida fiasco where he was obviously not trained properly. His chin is shaky early in the fights but he is not the glass jawed joke some people make him out to be. His pressure fighting style at frenetic paste makes for interesting match up against Nelo.

Also if they start promoting the fight now I think that Pac-Floyd is dead for May 2nd. They need a lot more time to promote that fight and for the first time I feel completely fed up with their soup opera to the point I don't care.

Also I lost a lot of respect for Cotto I thought he will honor PR pride and fight the most famous Mexican fighter at the moment.

I didn't say he's not exciting :huh Do you honestly consider him more exciting than Kirkland??? Kirkland goes down in every fight, is a southpaw with ridiculous power, and brings insane pressure. Andrade is stylisitcally a similar fight to Trout and Lara. Maybe GBP wants Alvarez to get a clear win in an exciting fight against a live opponent for once?

Kirkland also has a Texas fanbase, whereas Andrade has no fanbase. Andrade also has no pedigree in the pros just yet. Let him beat some top guys and once people know who he is he can get a shot. I'm sure Alvarez will give him an opportunity if he brings some viewers to the table.

You have no argument. Alvarez fights good fighters consistently, has taken on the best fighters in his division, and just got done being blatantly ducked by the Puerto Rican lineal middleweight champ. Let the kid take an action fight for chrissake.

if he goes down in every fight it means he's predictable, right?

why the fk do you care what kirkland's fanbase is? don't you want to see canelo fight the best competition and have some intense competitive matchups instead of some sham show for fake "excitement"?

if canelo is a big name why does it matter who his opponent is? you really think a kirkland fight will do more money than an andrade fight or lara rematch? i can guarantee you that a canelo-andrade fight would probably rake in far more than kirkland because boxing FANS know and respect andrade and lara far more than kirkland.

alvarez fights good fighters? so why isn't he fighting the BEST?...charlo, lara, andrade...those guys are the best young fightrers around. lara already beat him.

canelo doesn't want to fight the best. he wants to fight big name guys like clottey and cotto and floyd. those fights bring the big money. he's just LUCKY to get those fights because he's a popular mexican fighter and mexicans arethe biggest boxing fanbase. other fighters would LOVE to get those fights...it's not like lara is turning down fights with cotto or kirkland or scared to fight them...canelo is not brave...he's privileged.

he couldn't avoid the lara fight... and once again he lost and now refuses to give lara a rematch. i know canelo is just looking out for his health like mfkers try and clown floyd for saying....but at least the fans should see him for what he really is and call him out.

Mayweather, Trout, Lara, Angulo, Kirkland. Sounds like challenges.
