    The guy had beaten everyone he had ever faced.
    He also beat legit opponents.

    10-12. I rank him lower than most because of being brutally stopped by journeymen twice in his reign. Plus, he lacks any big scalps on his resume that were in their prime, except for Vitali, but a TKO from a lucky cut isn't that great as a career defining win. JMO.

    For me he's top 5, not many will rank him outside the top 10.

    Top 5 for sure in my book, and H2H is probably top 3, and make case for number 1 spot there.

    Top 5 he beat the best of his generation. He could have fought well during the Ali Frazier Foreman Norton Era or any other era.

    Had he beaten a prime Tyson he'd be in my top 3, but right now he's somewhere in the top 10, mainly because even though he was a splendid fighter, he had enormous physical advantage over most of his opponents. When he faced Vitali, he won, but he gt really intimidated by a boxer with a similar physic to his, and I believe the prime reason he retired after is that he didn't want a rematch with Vitali which would be too risky. Although I should note he was past his prime when that fight happened.

    Punishing Lewis for a win at 37, that about sums it up. As for being intimated against boxers his own size, nothing could be further from the truth. He demolished Ruddock, Golota and Grant, all of whom were close to his size and legitimately beat Vitali according to the rules of the sport.

    I have him ranked anywhere between 4-6 all time and H2H top 3-4.

    I think a H2H with Ali, Holmes, Foreman, Tyson and Lewis (maybe Wlad) could unfold in a variety of ways.

    Jack Johnson deserves a mention and maybe should be up there too, but I really don't know enough about him or the competition back then. Also, maybe Dempsey should be higher too.

    Ruddock, Golota, Briggs, Tua, Grant, were all pretty much in their primes when Lewis fought them. So much so that after the Ruddock fight, Bowe reneged on a legal contract to fight him.
