Look at him in that interview with Lampley. He looked like he was on meth or crack and even looked like that in the fight. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he fails his post fight drug test
I've been saying this for about two weeks, and yeah it wouldn't shock me in the least if he failed the test.
There was a lot of money riding on this promotion? tickets sold, insurance procured, P & A (print and adverts), a 'Road to Rios / Alvarado' shot and edited on HBO and a million other things that go into making a fight. It wasn't a giant fight but it also certainly wasn't some local club show with a 50 person audience. Probably once the momentum on this kind of thing gets rolling it's hard to slow it down even if (sadly) one of the fighters looks to be incapacitated. Alvarado himself was probably pushing hard for it go through also. He's facing jail time, court costs, he's been through a bunch of hard fights and needs a payday. This all just speculation on my part though.
All of this, and the sad part is the money that Alvarado takes home from this fight is 100% going to sink him further into the gutter of drugs.
He looks so sluggish and lethargic I think he's fcking with that oxy. A lot of fighters over the years have been deep into coke/crack and never performed that badly
Check this out and tell me Rios was'nt having issues during training? https://www.youtube.com/watch?x-yt-cl=84503534&v=kZMFBO-5das&x-yt-ts=1421914688
Alvarado didn't train, he was doing drugs, and who knows what else was going on in his life. That's my opinion, and I say that not to disparage him, but as an excuse for his performance, because that was not him.
100% Agree That was not Mile High Mike:-( That was a difficult fight to watch and you can bet he will not be back on HBO this year :deal I hope he seeks help as he was once a true warrior:bbb :smoke
Off topic....But did anyone else notice when they gave Alvarado credit for a win over Joshua Clottey?
