I would really like to see this fight.

There are question marks over Ward due to his inactivity.

I believe Groves' rangy squat style could cause Ward problems and he certainly hits hard enough to cause Ward problems.

Wards engine and power are not likely to be deciding factors in this fight so I think its a great match-up for Groves.

Should Groves win it will propel him to the very top.

It is also the only real way to make up legacy wise for the two losses to Froch.

Ward is obviously an elite fighter so I'm hardly saying Groves would Walk it, but I definately feel he has a good chance in this fight.

Ward likes to control the distance either smothering you or keeping out of range. I believe Georges style will make this quite difficult to do.

    Hopefully we find out!!!

ward would control George like a lollipop man at a crossing, please Ward is a super super talented boxer if not the best on the planet.
George is excellent but his defence would be badly exposed imo

Should have probably said a chance rather than a good chance.

Just feel the timing could be good as well/

Unless Groves has suddenly learned how to fight on the inside, he gets man handled by Ward. I like GG, but Ward is ultimately a better boxer inside and out and also the bigger man. Only slight edge you may give George is one punch power.

Ward would brutalise George- thankfully the fight won't ever happen

Talk about over exaggerating Ward and under selling Groves. Ward is no walking destroyer and neither is Groves some talentless, clueless wonder. It would make for a good competition between the two, Groves is a lot more smart than you think he is. Just because he lost against Froch, doesn't automatically make him ****. He has the skills and talent to make it competitive.

Ward beats Groves, but that said I think Groves gives Ward a harder nights work than Froch did..

Styles make fight and all that.

Ward's control of range is something else though.

When I say brutalise I don't mean a 1 punch KO -I mean a thorough beat down including the rough house stuff with the head and shoulders that Ward delivers.

No disrespect to George but Ward would absolutely school him, it would be brutal and everyone watching would be wincing at the beating dished out.

Groves would be dangerous in the first 6 but couldn't see him winning.

I don't disagree that Ward takes Groves back to nursery; but which SMW doesn't he do that to? He absolutely mastered Froch from start to finish, and he's universally recognized as the second best SMW in the World.

Ward vs Groves is one of the better fights that can be made at SMW (Golovkin isn't moving up anytime soon, and neither is Ward). I really wouldn't mind seeing it, even if we all already know what will happen beforehand.

Ward wins 10 of 12 rounds against anyone at 68.
