Who would you pick in this one? Can Max stop iron-chinned, but unskilled and painfully slow giant?

Baer could potentially stop him, or outpoint him.

Baer is on a different level.

Max Baer bludgeons Valuev...the Russian wouldn't go down as many times as Carnera, but mhe wouldn't last as long for that matter...maybe 8 rounds.

Max with his awkward style...and sledgehammer right hand...wins by TKO...

Baer by stoppage in a complete massacre.

The Baer that showed up for the Braddock fight could probably beat Valuev without a whole lot of trouble.

I had Valuev winning both the Haye and Ruiz fights. If the guy who beat Lykiovich shows upand works that jab, he wins in a landslide. Valuev was a force that made the difficult look easy and the easy look difficult.

Valuev also had his hands full vs HW monsters like Bob Mirovic and 5'9'' cruiser Dominguez, and being schooled by 100 y.o. Holy should be mentioned, too.

If carnera could give Baer a black eye, then I think Valuev with his size might have troubled him.

If Valuev could punch his weight, he would knock out every heavyweight in history but pound for pound , he must have been one of the weakest punchers amongst heavyweight champs. Also for such a giant guy, his fists were surprisingly much smaller that you would think for a guy his size. Maybe that partly explains why he wasn't such a hard puncher?

I think the main reason are his poor punching skills and extremely slow hands

If Haye could rattle him in the 12th round in their bout, then Baer introduces him to the canvas at some point. TKO Baer.
