It's just weird. I see some ignorant Floyd fans, the "I'm better than American" Khan/brook/UK fans, and then there's Pac fans. They sound like 10 year old kids arguing over pokemon cards "Pacquiao has so much power and speed" "nobody can beat Pac" bla bla bla. I mean all extremist fans are ludicrously loyal and stupid but my goodness. These guys are persistent and borderline insane.
I can't believe people are thinking the NFL will have anything to do with this announcement. A league that has spent the past year in turmoil because of their lenient stance on domestic violence won't join forces with a convicted woman beater. Just not going to happen.
He's throwing the rumors out there, waiting for people to be accepting of it just as they are, then he'll make it a reality.
You think if this fight gets officially announced people are gonna give a damn about some domestic violence?
I'm guessing Floyd (his team) plan to use the Superbowl as their announcement platform regardless if it's Pac, Cotto, or whomever.
I don't think Cotto II happens in May but I have to see how the whole situation plays out before I call duck. From what I've seen the hang up isn't Mayweather but HBO/SHO being unable to come to terms to copromote the fight. Until its worked out how the fight will be promoted/viewed nothing else really matters. I don't see why everyone is making a big fuss when does Mayweather usually announce his fights mid/late Feb this is par the course honestly.
Food for thought,CBS will broadcast the Superbowl.CBS owns Showtime, so they do have stake in the fight. So maybe free promo.
