    Who wins this?

Both guys were physically strong, had good chins and got hit quite a bit. I think Saad trained harder and had better stamina to fight hard throughout each round. Although, like Victor, he fought off the ropes at times. I think Saad had the edge in power. Both guys bled. I think Saad would win a close decision with stamina being the difference allowing him to outwork Victor.

If Galindez is not on point, Saad could stop him late. But, both at their best, I'm calling it a draw, or a nailbiting win on either Saad or Galindez.Too close to call for me.

I'm calling it a close as hell decision for Galindez.

SAAD for me, he was more refined and a better all around boxer, Galindez was tough and strong, but SAAD could dig a little deeper...

    SAAD by close decision....

    15 or 12? If 15, Matt "Saads" Victor, 12 it's closer.

I understand that if it's a 12 rounder fighters pace a fight differently than if it's scheduled for 15, but 45 minutes with Saad sounds a lot more daunting than 36 (not that either proposition sounds remotely attractive!).

As he grant says, Saad was a MONSTER.

Could go either way. Outside of the 'knowledgables' on board, most posters seem to ****ize Victor post-75. (The ultimate Galindez-Conteh summer of 75 s**** never materialized)
Marvin Johnson (I'm an Indy native, loved Marvin and was ringside for his first 10 pro bouts) blew out a faded Victor but, IMO, pvp Galindez would have prevailed.
Sidebar: As far as the epitome of textbook 'counterpunchers' go, wouldn't Victor and Jerry Quarry be at or near the top of the list?

Galindez was controlled but had power and took a good punch, Saad had to get you into the battle of give and take and after the 1st war exchange his 2nd battle was to the death. I can see Victor keeping his control and stepping up sporadically and back to his range and waiting until late in the fight when the picking were ripe to pick up the pace for a late stop or UD......durable and consistent Victor should be the Victor

Yes...Galindez fought a cautious, calculated counterpuncher's fight and knew how to protect himself well when be went with his back to the ropes...the man was an excellent counterpuncher with power...however, unless the ko just came for him, he did go slugging out there looking for the knockout. I think he would have been cagey enough to survive vs Saad, who won especially against guys foolish enough to elect to go slugging with him. He could discourage an opponent occasionally who got too fresh with him like he did with Eddie Mustafa..who was getting in some good body shots on Victor in the 3rd round of their bout, when boom...out of nowhere he decked Eddie with a left hook counter...and I think discouraged his man for the rest of the fight. Like I said before, Galindez by a narrow, hard fought but clear decision.

Galindez (and Quarry) were unheralded, excellent counerpunchers. Galindez was practically shot vs Rossman (however, Rossman fought an excellent fight the st time)..Victor pulled it all together for his own revenge and for the honor of Argentina for the rematch, but he was DONE after that. The Galindez that Marvin Johnson beat wa a mere shell of prime Victor. Galindez would have made Johnson just another victim in his prime.

Prime for prime I have no problem picking Galindez, and it would be by a late round stoppage. There would be no such thing as surviving once Galindez hurt you. And he would hurt you. I will say this though. It would be a war.

It'd be a great fight. Saad Muhammad by KO14 in a bloody war. But really it could go the other way just as easily...Galindez's prime lasted longer than Matthew's.

Tough fight to pick...With both as champions, I think Galindez would shade it. But a pre title Sadd/Franklin who used his boxing ability more, and a less penchant for slugging would have troubled Galindez, and perhaps would have shaded in his own favor...In either scenario, Victor would find out he couldn't go toe to toe with Sadd though...Muhammad is the physically stronger fighter.
