I used to think that Wlad would win but I've changed my mind. Tyson had the style to beat Wlad. Wlad would lose this one imo
86-88 Tyson could beat the Red Army with one hand tied behind his back. It's not really a "vs" material with anything, and it's not an indicator of anything.
watching some old school tyson videos of him training and of his head movement, the man was a throwback!! if he would have stayed focused and kept himself away from vices he would have reigned for a long time. his size and style would have given him troubles later in life but i think he could have reinvented his style a la wlad and continued to dominate. people like to tarnish the mans accomplishments because they didn't like the crimes he was accused of or his bad boy behavior but the man in his prime was a beast and like the klits a h2h nightmare for the majority of heavyweights in history.
Wlad in his prime got beat by sanders, and brewster, then he struggled with sam peter. The prime younger version of tyson would have koed wlad within 6 rounds imo.
I think Wlad would make it an ugly fight, Keeping Tyson at range then when he gets in close Wlad would hold and take away from Tysons momentum. I think Tyson would catch Wlad but not until the later rounds if Tyson hadnt tired out by then, Mike has said himself that he didnt like going past four rounds and that Wladimir is a great champion. all those guys covered up and fought scared the entire fight, + tyson beat them all by unanimous decision so its not like he went life or death against them.
Well Wlad is going to clinch and try and keep Tyson away with the Jab and not engage too much how is that any different?
prime tyson would rock wlad on the inside and if he doesnt drop him in one of those clinches he would make wlad think twice about excessive clinching. we saw pulev rock klit a few times during clinches i think tyson would have better success.
