Cotto vs GGG Needs to be his next fight!!!

    If no rematch with Mayweather and with Canelo getting jumpy...I do not see any other viable and credible fight for Cotto other than
    GGG!!!

    He got the accolades and glory that came with his accomplishment
    in winning the lineal title from Martinez in asskicking fashion.

    Now...I believe it's his duty to face GGG.

    Personally....I think he will pull out a can of old fashion "Whoop Ass" and exploit GGG's weak defense and slowness.

    GGG may stun him on a few occasions....there is no doubt of that possibility but I do not believe he is on the same level as of yet!!!

    Bottom line is this is Boxing....not a transition phase into retirement!

    Thatd be a sick fight. I'd be hyped. I think Cotto could give him a fight if he can stay away from the power.

    I like Cotto but I gotta be honest. I don't think he can pull this one out of the hat

    I think that Cotto is thinking about his next move in a big way....

    Remember he cannot just burn bridges at HBO any longer by jumping ship like that as he now has a lot of fighters signed under Cotto Promotions.

    Cotto doesn't need to fight any longer, his promotional company alone makes a lot of bread and he has a lot of up and coming fighters who also have ties with Top Rank.

    So I do not think he will just jump ship to fight Mayweather on Showtime... I just do not think it will happen.

    Regarding Tripple GGG... he would fight him... I do not think any fighter is afraid of another fighter... anyone who steps in the ring has my respect.

    I do think they wanted the Canelo fight and Canelo wanted May 2nd before anyone.

    Canelo was an 8 figure payday for Cotto, after losing that if he doesnt get Floyd its hard to say.

    I dont think he fights GGG ever, he is just a class below and Roach knows it. Voluntary vs Bradley, then vacate 160 WBC to go for a 154 belt.

    We will get a good idea actually based on GGG's next fight after Murray. I think Oscar asked Cotto camp to do him a solid and tell him in confidence Cotto plans. Thats why GBP went out on a limb to sign DL. If Cotto vacates, GGG-Lemeuix is the natural fight the WBC and HBO execs want to see for vacant title. So dont expect GGG-DL in May, they will save that for Fall unless Cotto has confided that is willing to face his mandatory.

    It won't happen and if it does Cotto won't have a chance to take a knee, he will be Out Cold :scaredas:As in, in a freezer in a mortuary.

    Man Cotto beats a no legs Martinez and fans think he can beat Mayweather in a rematch or hang with a guy like GGG:rofl

    Cotto is brave, but not THAT brave. Unless he falls off a coco tree and gets crazy or if he gets suicidal, those are the only logical ways for Cotto to face GGG.

    It's a possibility if he catches him solid...however I think Cotto will be well prepared and maintain distance while out pointing him with timing...keeping it in the center!

    He should fight Canelo or one of the other 160 belt holders before thinking about GGG.
