LOL!! Is that what the doctor said or is that something you think he said? There was no abnormal swelling in the area, so I don't know what the doctor saw that might indicate that he would suffer permanent damage.

Whatever the case maybe, Margarito will always be a favorite in my book. IF he cheated, Karma kindly paid him back. If he didn't cheat, he was wrongly judged by many. Unfortunately we will never know for sure.

If the ref had stopped it in the second round when Cottos lacing & beating on Margaritos eye caused him to lose the sight in it THEN it may have been a fair stoppage. The doc knew he couldn't see out of that eye in round 2 but he let him go EIGHT more rounds. Till Cotto started wilting & Margarito was beating his chest Then the corrupt doc stepped in to save Cotto not Margarito. Another blatant boxing injustice!!!

You are contradicting yourself Margarito was getting damaged froim round TWO!! Why did the doc wait till Margarito was beating his chest & Cotto was wilting to decide to stop it???
It was decided Cotto was going to win before fighters left their dressing rooms. Just one more corrupt result to blacken boxings eye:patsch

Margarito was a tough as nails legend. If he were still fighting he would fight GGG no questions asked

Probably, but I think it would look somewhat like Miguel Angel Gonzalez vs Kostya Tszyu.

Tony was coming on, but it was probably too late for him to stop Miguel unless he pulled a rabbit out of a hat a la Chavez - Taylor.

And what makes Cotto a diva? Because the diva Sergio said so, and all his horny fans can't deal with the reality that Cotto outclassed and exposed their hype job.

Cotto is a diva He could not admit Tony Margarito LEGITIMATELY made him take a knee & QUIT!!!!!!!!!! like the cry baby :| he is.
Tell me Has Cotto EVER defeated an opponent who entered the ring 100% fit ???? I think he prefers to fight guys that are crippled
A 100% Sergio would have made Cotto QUIT AGAIN!!!!!!!

No same exact fight except Cotto adjusted and circling to Tony's right and punching him in his injured eye hoping to get a stoppage before Tony hurt him again and he got exactly what he wanted.

one of the biggest myths in boxing. margarito was coming on blah blah blah. he wasn't doing shiiit. just stalking faster and taking combos in the face.

btw we are in 2015. let it go.

I know it's 2015, but I love reminiscing how Margarito made Cotto quit on his knees.

Besides, there hasn't been any good fights lately, so what are we supposed to do? Twiddle our thumbs? This is a forum, in case you did not notice.
