Billy you say that nothing changed in the build ups but it was quite clear for everyone to see in the fights after he destroyed Kevin Mitchell that Ricky was no longer listening to your advice in the corners, I can remember loads of instances where Ricky looked to be disagreeing with you and actually mouthing back at you in between rounds when you were trying to give him imo sound advice.

So would you not agree that his attitude changed after he beat Kevin mitchell and that is one of the reasons that Ricky maybe hasn't performed as well since, when you and Ricky were winning all your fights pre Kevin Mitchell you could see that you would instruct and Ricky would listen intently, and stick to the plans you had worked on in the training camp.

If it wasn't Ricky that changed then it would mean you had changed in some way that Ricky no longer wanted to listen to you the way he did when he beat Rocky Martinez, Katsidis etc

yes Ricky attitude changed towards the kind of fighter he thought he became after the Mitchell fight and we have both spoke about this since we split and there was no denial, although certainly not his professionalism within the gym nor on the lead up to a fight, see David people who jump on the bandwagon about Ricky answering back in the corner, that doesn't bother me a jot coz it means he cares, he has stated to me it was simply because I raised my voice to him coz he made a mistake seconds before the bell went and I was angry, ask the man himself.
I certainly haven't changed in my approach as a coach my wins to losses record is as good if not better than most.
Your from Aberdeen right enough fishing like an old granny looking for crack that aren't there, but eh good try:good

Exactly as i saw also the last round against Martinez you had his full attention and gripped where as round 4 Beltran you got mothed back at , Billy Watch your fcukn attitude who do you think your talking too, showed a massive level of disrespect to you imo , i also think the calming voice of Dean Powell has been missed in there corner by several fighters and Rickys defo one of them

steve that's a typical coach fighter stuff, if I had £100 every time it fell out with Brophy in the gym I'd be well off lol, these things will happen in a relationship do remember we'd spend 10 weeks together and it's my ugly mug that he sees everyday telling him what to do and what not to do, you'd maybe get ****ed off at times too lol

Really? I don't see where I'm trying to fish for anything!! I'm putting across a valid question to you that might help the others on the thread that were not present when we have spoke about how Ricky's attitude changed and you don't really put your point across well sometimes but come across as defensive by telling people they don't know anything.

I think if you also remember back mate he was talking back to you on more than the one occasion when you shouted at him, he can be seen to shake his head at your advice on occasion too.

I'm not saying that it was your fault but if you keep telling everyone that everything Ricky was doing was exactly the same then someone has to be at fault and the only other person that could be blamed would be you. Am i wrong? Would there be someone else at fault?

I agree with you on Terence Crawford though and as much as I like and admire Ricky I think even at his best he would have struggled with the skills that Terence had.

Also what has me being from Aberdeen got anything to do with anything??!!! And how much old granny's do you know who go out fishing for anything!!!! Hahaha

lol that a Glasgow thing ain't it the old dons and there fishing:lol:
I think you will find Ricky was shaking his head because of frustration because he wasn't doing what was planned, unfortunately Ricky thought he was a out and out fighter after Kevin that simply wasn't the case, hence all the lunging in over stretching ect ect now tell me you seen those mistakes in him before the Mitchell fight, no we never, so Ricky has a huge part to play in his lack of form, as I say he never got trained diffrently
    Big Dave "jack Charlton" McAllistar:good

I think that part there will help the others on here understand what was happening near the end of your time together, I like the way you back your fighters to the hilt no matter what but sometimes you just have to let them fall on there own sword !!

Does anyone think Billy is struggling to believe Ricky is no longer what he was? And In fact not even close to it, I agree with Stevie pressure inside your job and outside your job is pretty much the same. Things may have got to him with the whole rabbit hole business but in my opinion (simple one) Ricky, like others mentioned thought he became a banger, then basically lost fights from that point in the process got his jaw broken.
He's lost his confidence, not sure now how to fight and scared of getting properly tagged again.

do you think it's on par when Lee totally ignored Peter in his Euro fight putting his head out the ring to talk to someone and not on just one occasion?
