My most controversial opinions

1. Sonny Liston merely quit in the 2nd Ali fight and didn't take a dive for anyone else's benefit.

2. Mike Tyson was still at his best in the Douglas fight.

3. Floyd Mayweather is a juicer, a typical tactic of a cheat is to accuse everyone else so nobody looks at you.

4. Holyfields heart and courage isn't in the same league as Ali or Frazier.

Mike Tyson is insanely overrated. He's like Fisher Price "My first Boxer" casual fans put him on such a high pedestal because he's a well known name and it takes little to no effort to find out anything about him.

If James Toney wasn't dehydrated from making weight he'd have beat RJJ

 

If James Toney had been a true professional who took his craft seriously he wouldn't have needed to be so dehydrated for that fight.

And he still would have lost… but I guess that's what makes it controversial.

Junior Jones KTFO of MAB in their first fight, WDQ5. It goes down as a DQ and not a TKO because his corner stepped in the ring before it was stopped. The rematch was close and a case can be made for a Barrera win but I thought Jones did enough.

Hearns had two KO losses at MW (KO3 Hagler and KO3 Barkley). He lost a SD to Barkley in their rematch (at LHW) which I felt could have gone Hearns way despite the fact he was down in the fight. Not great? I see your point but it's not about his stats at MW, it's about the fact that he could have beat a lot of the great MW Champs... it doesn't hurt that was able to win World Title Belts at SMW and LHW as well. If he was great at WW an JMW, and IMO great at SMW and LHW... why not MW?

 

Toney wasn't an ambi-turner...he couldn't turn left.

 

Can't argue with that, what about the first Jones vs. Barrera fight?

 

My bad, I thought you were suggesting you thought Barrera was robbed in both fights.

 

Erik Morales, MAB and Marquez were not all-time greats. they are more in the "borderline great\generational great" sort of bracket, comparable to some of the excellent featherweights of past era's that few consider all-timers like Moore, Ramos, Winstone, Legra, Famechon, Marcel etc(which is a great compliment really, not a diss) in fact would be in towards the bottom of that group H2H and it's more a reflection of them being in a much easier era for weightjumping and picking and choosing titles that they accomplished more in terms of picking up belts at multiple weights.

Dmitriy Loskov was the best passer of a ball of the last 20 odd years.

Five inches out to be sufficient for anyone.
