How much genetics matters in boxing? is skills more important? If you are genetic freak with fast muscle fibers, high testosterone levels, and borned to be strong with natural flexibility it will give a lot edge. Jack Dempsey used to said fighters are made, not born. So you can develop everything with dedicated training, but everyone have limit due to their genetics. So I guess everyone should just do best what they got.
then how come chavez sr was a better fighter than his son and his father? or paez sr. or wilfredo vasquez sr?
Your post is a bit open. What is your point, each guy was better because of genetics or genetics don't matter?
I don't think they matter. If they did, the father of JCC would have been a good fighter and passed on his genes, and Chavez Jr would be better still. If that makes sense? Maybe the eldest Chavez had the genetics to be a great fighter, as does Jr. (having his father's DNA), but neither had the necessary mindset to use it effectively.
I think it matters a lot. Speed/Power/Chin/Height/Reach/Build... But then after that it depends on your mind and heart, and the mind and heart is what separates winners from losers.
This is more important. Even a guy with lesser genetics could do better than a guy with superior genetics if he has the right mindset.
Genetics cant stop you from being good boxer if u work hard. Most people that i hear blaming genetics are usually just having a ****ylifestyle People want to drink alcohol do drogs eat junk sit on thair ass all day and then blame genetics for sucking at sports
