He also had Floyd Mayweather as a top 3 ATG, above SRL, Hagler, and Louis.

I believe he's actually just a white guy who hates black people and wants to make them look stupid by pretending to be one. Or a Joyboy.

And if you're going to parody a thread at least have a similarly-supported point. Roy was never at the top of any division and consistently failed to face fellow champs in every single division he fought in. Duran was a great lightweight, ducked nobody, has one of the greatest wins of all time ABOVE his prime weight, and was robbed of another of the greatest wins of all time above THAT weight. He was a damn good fighter when he didn't have to take a dump.

There's a difference between bashing an ATG and pointing out the holes in a supposed-ATG's career.

So, would you say Duran is better P4P than Roy?

Very hard to say. Based on their best performances, yes.

Roy vs. Hopkins at their original weight < Duran vs. Hagler 25lb above Duran's original weight
Roy vs. Toney (both originally middleweights) < Duran vs. Leonard 12lb above Duran's original weight
Roy vs. Ruiz (33lb weight advantage) for a strap < Duran vs. Barkley (lightweight vs a huge supermiddleweight) for a strap

Is Hagler better than Hopkins p4p? I think so.
Is Leonard better than Toney p4p? I think so.
Is Barkley better than Ruiz p4p? I think so.
Was Roy the same size as Hopkins and Toney and very outsized by Ruiz? Yes.
Was Duran moving up 2 weight classes for Leonard, 4 for Hagler, and 5 for Barkley? Yes.

So Duran fought better fighters than Roy did, and he moved up in weight to do it. I don't know who I'd pick p4p. If they met at middleweight Jones would kill him, but Duran was really a lightweight. Plus who knows if he'd actually train  His style would definitely give a lot of problems to Jones. If you get dropped by Del Valle, outboxed by Griffin, and KO'd by Johnson and Tarver, Duran would probably do better.

It's much easier to argue that Duran took on massive challenges and was lineal at 2 weights and robbed of a third (so 5 weights if you count junior weight classes), while Jones refused to challenge himself and was never lineal at any weight. P4P is subjective, but Duran will always be an ATG while Jones is very debatable if you go by resume.

when you fight the top fighters available to you then you are going to lose a few of them. Don't see the big deal in that.

Are you saying Duran was robbed in the Hagler fight?

That was my impression last time I saw it and I'm not alone in thinking it (if Duran took one more round on the cards he would have won). I'll rewatch it and see if my opinion changes if I score it RBR.

Point is it was Hagler, and it was CLOSE.

Duran made it into a lot closer fight than I thought he would but I didn't think it was a robbery. I give Duran a lot credit for making the fight as tough as he did. I remember Hagler grumbling after the fight that he gave Duran too much respect.

Hagler won by the narrowest of margins

All the people accusing OP of race baiting where were your outrage on the Roy Jones bashing thread thats been floating around this forum for the past 2 weeks. Though I don't totally agree with OP, he however make some strong point. Except for SRL, Duran did lose to most of the other greats in his era. Thats not an opinion, thats a fact. Also don't forget that Duran also broke the cardinal rule of boxing by quitting against SRL rematch. With that said Duran had a great career and was one of the best of his era, however he's nowhere near the top 10 alltime pfp list.
