If you are going to emphasize something at least spell it correctly. I am not sure who is tailor made for Bowe outside a drugged up Dokes, timid Atlantic City heavies or a cigar smoking amateur Cuban. He struggled with pretty much everyone else of note. He was trouble putting away the extremely offensively limited Coetzer, resorting to low blows to end matters. I would still go with a prime Bowe but it would certainly not be an easy night.
Povetkin struggled with the fattest , slowest version of Eddie Chambers that ever stepped in the ring and was getting shut out by Tackam before Tackam got to tired to hold up his arms. Povetkin couldn't get his famous hooks past the jab. Bowe never let you have a free punch. You hit him wit 2 , he gets you back with 4. And this may not even go down entirety on the inside . Bowe could easily box him off from the outside. Holy made a great effort to stay inside on Bowe contrary to recent opinions. Outside , in range of his power is not where he wanted to be. Povetkin is a plodder and had no speed or agility to get in on Bowe like Holyfied did, never mind his fast , multi dimensional lateral movement . Povetkin has nothing for Bowe.
NO NO NO Bowe's uppercut just murders smaller fighters inside, you don't want to **** with Bowe inside. I don't like the man and he would struggle against top out fighters who can hold him off but he was a beast inside
FOTY caliber action, but styles make fights and I favor Bowe if we're talking peak vs peak. If Povetkin had one punch power I'd think twice, but his style is more about accumulation and in a war scenario (which this would turn in to), it's tough to play that game vs Rid****.
Ditto, AP has no speed, a jab for ****, predictable as the day is long, and very painful to watch, I'd rather get a tooth pulled.. That fight with Klitchko was so ugly and full of stench I turned it off, because it was too painful and nauseating to watch:tired
Again, he was good on the inside on offense but his inside defense was as leaky as the Lusitania (too soon?).. And Sasha has underrated power... better than Golota, I would say.
But Bowe was clearly declining vs Golota. He had short prime like Fernando Vargas and many others. Also, Golota had much better jab and longer arms than Sasha which helped him against faded Bowe. Povetkin is very good on the inside, but he lacks some physical attributes against prime Bowe (reach, strength etc).
Lol, you got me... I reckon you dont like Bowe, not a problem but a game set on Bowe was a very formidable opponent who came to fight EVERY time he entered the Ring , in shape or not and you had to literally kill the guy to get on top of him. As washed up after a short time he was against Golata the mental midget had to bail himself out not once but twice with low blows because he could not keep Bowe off him. I also can assure you that the super cautious triple defense minded WK would not be able to throw Bowe around like he did Povetkin. Again, Bowe by murder. Please spell check for me, thx.
I dont like the way Alex was trained under Teddy or at that time, he was better conditioned for Vlad and Takem is no slouch, he beat Perez IMO and Charr is game. I think the same Povetkin handles Huck much easily. It was a clear stamina problem that A.P. had at that time but IMO his conditioning and stamina has improved. For me Bowe has always been easily hit and Povetkin can put pressure on, I think he can beat Bowe
One of the reasons Bowe was declining is because he went to war too often and went to war too often on the inside when he had all attributes to control action to his advantage at a distance. Golota, for his size and length, was really stiff and top heavy. He didn't have great balance or dynamic mobility. Sasha, when in shape, moves really, really well. A few inches in reach is quickly overcome by good upper body movement and footwork. And one thing I will add having met Sasha in person (kind of a standoffish) He's a lot bigger than he seems when fighting super heavies. He is a legit, big heavy, thick boned, big hands and he's got twice the fighting heart of a Golota.
Takam is a strange case. He lost to Gregory Tony clearly, then Perez KO'd Tony in 1 rd, and then Takam in most eyes beat Perez. He surely has some skills but lacks punching power. He was leading on all cards vs Povetkin after 7 rounds. Takam is nowhere near to Bowe. Charr is simply a punching bag, a tough punching bag, that's true. He's game only against D-level fighters. Charr lost every round (and was KD in 2nd rd) to 41 y.o. Vitaly, he lost every round to Povetkin. And he was losing against Bakhtov till Denis suddenly quit. Charr never beat TOP-30 HW in his career. Bowe from 1992 beats any version of Povetkin. Bowe from Golota fights will have hard time against Sasha. Bowe from 2000's loses to any version of Povetkin, yes.
I see nothing in Bowe from the Coetzer fight in 92 that tells me he is a sure thing against the Sasha we have seen recently.
I'm not saying Bowe was flawless. He wasn't. But he had the combination of power, size, reach, chin, workrate etc. to be favoured in this fight. Great fight though as Povetkin never quits even if he's hurt badly.
We would have to favour Bowe here. I mean Povetkin is good, but there is nobody except Klitschko, in Bowes class today.
