Jim Watt has completely lost it. Awful commentary and even worse scoring of fights. Ian Darke is the best but I think he just does football now.
they can be a bit biased and jim watt can sometimes be painful to listen to but other than that i don't think their as bad as people make out, as mentioned a bout where one of their own isn't involved is very well done and accurate but on homeshows their usually slated by the masses on facebook and twitter lol
Ha ha. Really? If your criteria for a good presenter are things like incoherent English sentences, inane questions, a tedious self-deprecatory sense of humour and constant repetition of empty, well-worn phrases ('that was a great fight', 'he was a great fighter', 'great'), then yeah, he's, erm, great. If however you think presenters should offer a bit of insight, maybe a touch of thoughtful ****ysis, beyond the above phrases, then Johnny really isn't your man. He's a nice bloke but God only knows why he is in that job. Get someone in who can talk sense and who has a brain - Paulie, Richie Woodhall or Paul Smith.
It's true. He often calls fights incorrectly. Listen to him with Benn vs Piper. Benn fought a great fight that night - hammering Piper to the body until he slowed and could be stopped - and Watt criticised him the whole way through it for not throwing combination punches, completely missing the point of Benn's strategy. Watt just couldn't see it and to make matters worse could not adapt his commentary as it went on. Just repeated duff statements. Tedious to listen to.
Jim Watt is AWFUL and whenever they let Amir Khan on to talk he is terrible.Mccrory stinks too. Paul Smith isn't bad and neither is Jamie Moore, and the box nation team aint bad either.
great point. when he can't comprehend a fighters strategy he just moans about it despite how well they are doing. I think the tone of his voice don't help either
