Broner is a bum, he was naturally bigger at lower weights. As soon as he stepped up he got his ass kicked.
Algieri is miles better than Broner, better athlete, better boxer, and someone I'd have a beer with.

Broner is nothing but HYPE. Sure he has some talent, but he will always gets beat when he steps up to the top tier.

He lost to the much smaller unkown Fernando Quintero, or at best a very questionable decision that required a lot of justification to give it to Broner. Quintero outworked him and beat him.

He lost to the smaller Daniel Ponce De Leon. Broner again got outworked by the cave man De Leon is. There was no way of justifying that win. De Leon is an over-achiever who lost to Caballero and has gotten KTFO by Lopez, Mares, Roman and Broner couldn't even make him respect him.

Broner also lost to Malignaggi or at best got a razor thin decision over him. The same Malignaggi that was utterly destroyed by Porter, Khan, Hatton and brutalized by Cotto.

And of course he was ****d by the crude Maidana. The same Maidana who went to hell and back against a shot Morales and a heartless Ortiz.

Broner is waaaaay over hyped and will get his sh!t pushed in again when he decides to fight another top tier fighter.

I'm gonna tell it like it is.

I never really cared for Broner. I thought it was lame he was trying to copy Floyd's persona and was happy he got beat so he can't really do that anymore. (He isn't undefeated.)

Someone in this thread said Broner has no speed. That is not true. Broner is very fast. His problem is his power isn't that great against guys at 140 and above. Also his chin isn't that great either so getting hit by bigger punches hurts him more.

He really should have stayed @ 135. I think he would be close to unbeatable at that weight. He can just walk people down, not much mobility required. When he occasionally does get caught he will be able to take their punches. I am glad he moved to 147 lbs so his glass chin could be exposed and people would see he is not the next mayweather. I wouldn't mind seeing him lose again and again. If I were him though I would stick to 135. Even there he would have trouble against the likes of Terrence Crawford... He could also get out pointed maybe against a boxer with high volume there. (less likely though, as his power would be better. He wasn't really able to keep a high volume boxer like Paulie off of him. YES, Paulie is a high volume boxer, check his compubox stats he throws much more than most who prefer a jab from the outside type of style)

But man I would love to see Broner vs Gamboa at 135. They could bill the fight as "Cheers". Its like two glasses clinking together! :smoke

Watch the Broner-De Leon fight and then come back and tell us again how close to unbeatable he is.

Floyd schooled Marquez all 12 rounds, yet Pac lost all 4 fights. Does that mean you think FLoyd would school Pac? Also Broner beats the **** outta avocado, avocado is trash.

You're kidding right? He's huge, 140/47 is just right for him. Actually judging by his last pic, he could make 154 or 160. He looked fat.

Broner is over rated by some, and SEVERELY UNDER RATED BY THE PEOPLE THAT DON'T LIKE HIM. Love him or hate him, he's not bad. He's not a bum. He's not elite or world class, but has potential to be. You guys are just being emotional.

He's not huge, he's 5'7". He can comfortably make 140, he's just got a poor diet in between fights.

You guys are wasting your time hating on Broner. I don't see him losing another fight for a couple of years. His management is going to put him in "tough" fights against ppl like taylor and molina where he can show case himself and get camera time while stacking wins.

    is he overhyped?
yes....so. it's a sport where you get paid based on popularity. why would he and his management not take advantage of that.

I think it's sad to compare Gamboa with Broner.

They are not alike in a very important way.

Gamboa lost a great fight to Crawford, and took the loss like a man- making no excuses. I'd personally like to see a re-match.

On the other hand, Broner got a beating from Maidana and while it was happening showed how classy he is by humping Maidana in the ring.

They are two very different guys when it comes to being respectful of the sport.

No he jumped weight too quickly, came in unprepared, didn't take it seriously until he got dropped. And Maidana is no push over.
