You actually won't be missing anything tomorrow night. There's no American televised boxing.

In the afternoon (for us) there is the Mitchell vs. Estrada card in the UK but after that, basically the weekend is dead.

There is the Rodriguez vs. Fajardo rematch in Mexico, but that will probably be a rout with Rodriguez not taking Fajardo lightly again...not to mention being at home.

Anderson Silva (who fancies himself as bit of a boxer) is fighting Nick Diaz (who also fancies himself as a bit of a boxer - he trains or at least used to train with Andre Ward) are fighting each other Saturday night, albeit MMA. Both of them have actually boxed professional, although only once for Diaz and Silva has done so twice. Silva was 1-1 (he was knocked out in the 2nd round for his loss) and Diaz won a UD4 over Alfonso Rocha, the same Rocha who floored Andre Dirrell once upon a time.

I don't really follow MMA anymore - but how the hell is that burnout Diaz still relevant?

I take it Silva never regained his belt, then, if he is s****ing the bottom of the barrel in terms of competition? This pretty much just a farewell/cash-out bout for him? :think

I don't know. Diaz is moving up in weight to MW, against an opponent who has obviously excelled at that weight and even briefly up at LHW too.

Silva hasn't regained his belt (he lost twice to Chris Weidman) but Dana White (one of the greatest human beings in the history of our species IMO) has guaranteed him another crack at Weidman again if he beats Diaz.

You can consider this the farewell to relevance tour for both of them basically. I'm just glad Silva and Roy aren't still considering fighting each other. :-(
