I don't believe Khan ever takes this fight till after he fights May or Pac. Too risky for him because if he loses his chances at Pac or May go away for good.
Agreed! My feeling has always been Khan is trying to keep this fight as his cashing out fight but with him running out of options will he still try and defer the fight?
brook has taken his first step towards a bigger playing field how about if he keeps doing that and earns that shot with khan? there's a reason why it's khan's 'choice' to take this fight, but brook can narrow that corridor pretty fast if he makes the right moves in the right direction
I don't often agree with Eddie but on this occaision I do. Right now Khan vs. Brook is a massive PPV fight in the UK. If Brook loses it is no longer PPV, if Khan loses again to anyone outside Mayweather and Pacquiao again it is no longer PPV. In 18 month this could just be anon title fight between two guys who may be argusbley out of the top 10. Khan should take this fight now.
Chances are Khan may never get a shot at Pacquiao or Mayweather. I know people are saying if he loses to Brook he won't get a shot at them but if he wins he has a title, he could become the new cash cow. Mayweather will probably fight Pacquiao in May, then in September and retire. Pacquiao will probably retire soon as well. Khan should man up and take that fight.
khan is chasing bigger fish - just like calzaghe was (re-froch) and hatton was (re-witter) khan knows the brook fight will still be on the table at a later date if he loses a fight or two. I hear what you're saying, it makes good $$$ sense, but khan has always chased the bigger fights gotta respect him for that
not in terms of rep, but its healthy in terms of $$$ remember, brook has only beaten porter. the rest of his resume is pretty pedestrian
The fight can't even happen now because Brooks fighting Jo Jo Dan in Late March and Khan fights in May. If Hearn and Brook really wanted Khan they would fight him in May instead of Jo Jo Dan.
