I explained the likely reason for this in my previous post. If Povetkin really wants the fight, he needs to force the issue and become Wilder's mandatory. That means that he would probably need to challenge Perez or Glazkov.

Because he's supposed to be the champion, and listening to americans, "finally a real champion".

Well, there it is, your champion, walking away with the tail between his legs from big money fights :verysad

He'll continue fighting bums and no hopers like he's always done.

At least before stealing the belt people were certain he would have been thrown in a Wlad fight, the biggest payday of his career, so at least the circus act would have stopped.

Nope, here he is holding the belt hostage for not less than another year and a half :-(

And american fans fully supporting him :barf After the hooker beating, after all the unrespectful insults, after throwing mud to Mike Tyson, after posting shameful gay videos.

No wonder WWE is so popular there.

Haymon and Wilder are killing the sport.

I'm sure the WBC will make him the mandatory if he beats anyone in their top 20. Povetkin-Glazkov would be really interesting, but I forgot that Glazkov was fighting Cunningham for IBF mandatory status. That leaves Thompson-Solis winner as the most likely opponent, if he chooses to go the mando route.

How did Wilder refuse Wlad when Wlad already has a fight set? So does Fury.

Who knows what happens after the Fury/Hammer fight.

It's a little early to talk **** about Wilder ducking anyone, because he just got the ****ing belt.

    Exactly.

Also funny how nobody mentions that Wilder is untested and has not faced any real opponents anymore. Nobody is talking about Wilder having poor technique and not being able to go 12 rounds anymore. At least we are past that point now, LOL.

America needed a manufactured HW champion (because there was no one of sufficient talent coming through or likely to) and in one of the most corrupt sports in the world, now they have one. He maybe absolutely amateur in his stance and in his movement, and look like a failed basketball player...but they have a HW champion and lots of the US fans are buying this one...hook, line and sinker.

We all know that Wlad destroyed Wilder in sparring and that Wilder will never fight him, because he knows he would be beaten up like a red headed step child who had been caught stealing from his step father, if they ever met.

Poor Povetkin, it is very sad. When will Povetkin be the mandatory however?

Or when Klitschko beats Jennings will he be the WBC mandatory by then?

Wilder can duck opponents only this year and then WBC strips his belt, right?

Wlad wouldn't be mandatory even if he beat Jennings because he has other belts which the WBC won't make a mandatory fight because of that. I believe that's correct.

Who gives a **** about Wlad? As Michael Buffer will tell us, the thousands in attendance and the millions watching around the world :yep Wlad isn't one of the highest paid athletes in the world for nothing :smoke

At almost age 39 (an age where Louis, Ali, Holmes, Tyson, Lewis were considered washed up) Wlad is still the dominant champ of the HW division. That's incredible IMO.

Wlad by early KO over both Wilder and Fury :hat
