That isn't true for the 2 years that followed the Garcia KO.

Or for the Dmitry Salita and Paul McCloskey fights. Everybody was very vocal in wanting him to face Lamont Peterson or Prescott II and he instead fought a joke fight against a joke opponent in McCloskey.

Props for taking on Maidana when Maidana was regarded as one of the very best punchers in the sport. And the Paulie and Judah wins are indeed notable.

But for as much as Khan's fans like to stress his 140 resume, lets face it, he lost to 2 of the 3 best fighters he faced at the weight and he never fought the other two top JWW's during his time there (Bradley or Alexander).

Not to particularly hate, but the post I quoted was fanboy-ish given what they were responding to. That is not really the argument you want to make if you are pro-Khan.

id like him to fight Brook but i dont think it will happen yet, the only top ww that is not a punchers is Bradley and that would be a big name to get on his resume and very winnable. id love him to fight thurman or maidaina again but i dont see it as they are very high risk.

Mccloskey actually beat Prescott in his next fight but yeah avenging that loss would have been better for him

He needs to stop begging and be his own man.

Yes but I recall that myself and the majority of posters in the RBR and threads after the fight discussing it scored that fight to Prescott by at least a round.

Either way, it's not as thought Prescott was so much better than McCloskey, just the idea of redeeming the one loss on his resume (and an awkward and devastating one it was) gave a Prescott rematch much more merit and reason than a fight with McCloskey where both fighters just sort of hopped and danced around for a couple rounds before a paper cut caused the ref to end it way early.

I hope I didn't sound like I was being a d-bag in my response (trying to be better about that).

I agree though. You can't fault him for wanting to face the best. But he has to be realistic about it. It's all fine and good to crave and chase those fights but when doing that actually keeps you out of the ring entirely or leads to facing cupcakes to bide time, then yes, it actually backfires and works against you (although Khan didn't let that stop him from having 2 solid wins in 2014, so that's good and hopefully he learned from wasting his 2013 and very beginning of 2014).

Danny was offered a rematch with Khan THREE TIMES and refused it, THREE TIMES.

That doesn't matter much if Khan went on to face an unranked and completely unknown Lightweight. And then six months later fight an unranked and faded Welterweight at 143 lb c/w. And then not fight for almost a year after that only to take on another unranked fighter (although Collazo prob was top 15).

Seems like posturing if you can read between the lines. Golden Boy never wanted to make that fight between two of their younger golden tickets (as beating Khan launched Garcia into that sort of realm).

Kell brook is not a nobody in the uk, not as big a name as khan but he's known

Who did Danny face except Matthyse? He is hugely overrated.

The fact remains that he turned a fight with Amir 3 times. Regardless of what you put, Danny did no want to know.

    No he isn't.

Kell has been active since 2004 and nobody knows who he is!

Carl Frampton has a bigger profile than Brook in the UK.

There's at least ten fighters more known than Brook in the UK, some of whom have never had a title of any note.

Garcia's win over Matthysse would be Khan's greatest victory by some margin... so I would watch what you say there.

Razor thin victory over Matthysse where Garcia fought dirty as hell would not be Khans best win. Matthysse is overated. Maidana>Matthysse

Plus Khan stopped Judah in 6 who in his previous fight had outpointed Matthysse
