This fight is all wrong and a blatant attempt by Canelo and GP to enhance Canelo's resume with the shell of Kirkland. Same way they did with Angulo. He gets no credit from me for beating Kirkland.

Were you one of those people who said Canelo is ducking him and would get flattened by him quick as recent as 16 months ago? Because there were TONS of those people. And with how confident and bubbling they were to make those claims, a little bit of overweight-ness shouldn't be enough to change their minds so dramatically.

I never said those things, but I still won't pretend that Kirkland is a nobody. I think beating Bundrage at this point in time means more, but hey, that may just be me.

I would take a well trained Kirkland over Canelo any day but this is not the case. If Canelo would've called Kirkland out after the Tapia fight, I wouldn't have any problems. Kirkland is not a nobody but he's not Kirkland either. Beating Bundrage is also not a game changer. No matter how it's presented, Canelo's real choices of fighters to fight is ****.

Honestly, as long as Mayweather vs Pacquaio happens, I don't wanna see this fight.

I think Kirkland has a lot of potential, but at his current condition, he's going to catch a beatdown from Canelo.

Kirkland needs some fights under his belt. He can't keep training like he's a teenager though. He's a grown man.

I don't know if Anne Wolfe is the right trainer for him. A fully in shape, motivated, and well trained Kirkland would put a beatdown on Lara, Mayweather, and Canelo.

Didn't have the chin either. :-( Which, imo, ultimately accounts for his inactivity. If you had fragile whiskers like Kirkland and knew you could get laid out cold in any fight, you might not want to get into the ring too often!:yep

Dam, trying lose 40 plus pounds isn't going to be an easy feat. Duran used to get away with it between fights, but than again Duran is arguably one of the 10 greatest fighters the sport has ever seen.

I think a focused and game Kirkland has the power to give Canelo trouble. If both guys are in tip top shape come fight night, this should be an explosive bout!

 He fought through his chin issues on a number of occasions.
His stamina, power and relentlesness make up for his chin issues.
What he truly lacks is a great ring IQ.
