    And or a star attraction?

He hasn't beaten anyone of note in their prime, forfeited his title, doesn't have massive drawing power and is vert protected.

A I missing something about this guy or not?

he scores a mention because of the belt, but he doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the MW mix, when he has no intention of stepping up

    EDIT : nope, you haven't missed a thing ;)

I don't think anyone views him as a big name.

He is a top 5 Middleweight who has one of the four titles. It is what it is.

But aside from a couple predictable fanboys, no, nobody rates him anything special.

In fairness to Quillin, his win over Hassan Ndam is a quality one. It was a highly entertaining fight and despite losing more than half of the rounds, he still clearly won the fight with an impressive 6 knockdowns of the solid top 10 Ndam.

I was more impressed with his run to the title than anything he's done after it

Depends on what perspective you're looking from. As an opponent he makes a solid, somewhat big name, people know who he is. As the main attraction, nobody is paying top dollar to watch him fight, the number of main events he's been in are evidence of that.

Because he has shrewd management behind him, and a cool nickname in "Kid Chocolate". He also had a belt, and a few wins over decent opponents.

That said, you haven't missed anything. He'll eventually have to fight GGG, and he'll vanish into thin air.

He's not really a big name but one of the bigger names at middleweight as he held a belt, he's unbeaten and there's not a lot of other top fighters at middleweight.
