I wasn't sure as to what the result would be tonight against a very good opponent. He produced a master class to win by TKO in round 8, how do you think he compares to the other fighters in the division?
    Mitchell KO's Bey 100%
    Mitchell KO's Linares 100%
Tough fight with Figueroa 55/45 to Figueroa
Would have been KO'd by Crawford 100%
    Mitchell decisions Abril 60/40

It's sad it's taken until now for him to take it serious!

He's a fantastic fighter and he will win a world title in that form!

Very good from Kev tonight. With Crawford and potentially Figueroa moving up to light welter he's in with a great chance of winning a world title if he consistently performs like that.

How the fook did Mitchell get stopped by Ricky Burns? Huge talent, but aso hugely erratic from one fight to the next. Really likeable guy though, would rate his chances against Linares, a huge talent with a chin that makes Amir Khan's seem like Roberto Duran's.

God only knows, it was the weirdest result. They put it down to lifestyle and poor conditioning at the time, but getting KO'd by Burns? My nan hits harder than Burns.

But he looked the business against Estrada though. He's always had the skills and the punch, and is great to watch in the ring. That left uppercut serves him so well.

Because Ricky was a better talent than he's given credit for? annoys me all these people who try to downplay that victory for Ricky, Kevin might not have been fit physically or mentally but i heard no partying stories before the fight and as Kevin said "You're not a world champion if you can't punch" it was only after the fight the excuses started to come out but Ricky still had to go in and beat the guy infront of him, Before the Katsidis fight there was rumours of him being off the rails though so that 1 was no surprise.

Top performance from Kevin tonight though I hope he does win a world title it would be a shame someone who fought like that tonight not winning a world title so i'm not discrediting him in anyway im just fed up of the negative stuff on our successful guys.

Disagree with him beating Linares or Abril, but agree with the rest.

    Quite a performance today.

Taking nothing away from mitchell as it "looked"a good performance. However he left himself wide open at times and the lunging rocky punches were only possible because his opponent was very slow in both avoiding and countering.kev was flattered in there tonight.

Ha ha, will get his shot, put in a **** performance, come up with some excuse about some family issue causing him not to live right then lather, rinse and repeat. He's been doing this on a 2-3 year cycle for a decade now.

Had a feeling mitchell would spank this bloke, I watched a few clips of Estrada and thought he looked pretty poor.

Great result, I hope Hearn gets him a world title shot and mitchell turns up
