Well Ward is a converted southpaw, has a better, more educated jab than Golovkin and possesses a key foot speed and foot work advantage, which suggests that he would win a duel on the outside. In addition to this Ward is one of the few non punchers that can consistently push a fighter back to the ropes, and is also great inside with short punches, something I've yet to see Golovkin do. This suggests he holds advantages on the inside. Also despite being down against Boone, (very early in his career) Ward has shown the ability to take shots from good punchers and not be rattled. So it's doubtful Ward will melt from some of Golovkins shots. Also combined with the fact Ward has shown an ability to muffle the offense every fighter that he has been in with, so please explain to me in an educated manner why Ward shouldn't be favored over Golovkin.

Get GGG's D outta your mouth.

    I'm a huge fan but I hate D riding

It doesn't matter why they didn't want the fight.

What I said is that they don't want the fight.

And that, my D riding friend, is not pure BS

Neither a shot Abraham, nor Froch or Kessler are better than GGG. Those guys aren't Hagler or a prime Toney, they are the same level as a Tony Thompson in HW. Good, but do not exaggerate like they would be ATG potential.

Because very good boxers tend to get the better of good sluggers alot of the time.

ward has also faced and beaten better opposition than GGG and is the more versatile fighter.

No, Ward beat the guy who kicked the **** out of Bute and exposed him for what he was, overhyped.

Neither one has fought an ATG, both have fought some really good fighters.

The difference between the two, is that Golovkin fights with a style that completely dominates and shuts out his opponents. He fights with a style no one has been able to find any success with.

Ward is similar, except he lacks the accuracy and power to dominate.

I would put money on GGG, because his style is going to be very hard to beat unless you have more power and accuracy, which Ward has neither.

The fight will show GGG being the aggressor, while landing more and harder shots. Ward needs guys like Kessler and Froch, who's traditional style looks stiff and vulnerable to Wards tricks.

I'm as big a GGG fan as anyone and I'd pick him to win that fight.
Realistic enough to understand that it would be a hard fight and one that GGG could possibly lose.
Don't think it would be a whitewash on either side.

For what ever reason, Ward n his team didn't want any part of Bute.
There is clear evidence of this.

Yet they are all more proven than GGG at 168, and in the case of Kessler and Froch - they are FAR more proven at 168, and more proven over all.

The assumption some people make, that GGG automatically carries the same devastating power at 168, seems totally misguided. Especially since GGG has still never beaten anyone exceptional in his own weight class.

There's Lemiuex, Quillin. Let GGG beat these guys and clean out MW before we start putting him on the level of beating Ward, who has cleaned out SMW and knocked out the #1 rated at the time LHW (albeit at SMW)

no... because the 160 division is a bit of a mess at the moment with cotto beating a sergio who many feel was well past it with his leg injury. the champion cotto does not even weigh 160... he has not fought GGG quillen or a few other notable names at 160 so its hard to say he is indisputed.

wards basically being told by alot of people now to move up because he has cleaned out the division.. he is undisputed king of 168 its just a matter of how he looks now with such long time between fights
