Thats a good point. It seems people just criticize for the sake of criticizing these days. I'm not sold on Canelo's skills but hes the furthest thing from a ducker.
I never said he avoided anybody. He's brave and he fights anyone they put in front of him, but this is a waste of a fight. I think he needs to be fighting more technically sound fighters the way he did with Lara. It's clear he needs to improve against movers. I'd rather he fight Cotto instead of Kirkland which I think can still happen
Kenny Bayless has been regarded as the best ref in boxing for a decade now, you useless ****ing tool.
The problem there is you said he needs to fight better skilled and more disciplined opponents. He literally has fought two of the most skilled and disciplined fighters in all of boxing... in 2 of his last 3 fights.
One gave him a hard time the other he lost to. They need to get him out of his cement shoes. He's going to slip up if he's not careful. He needs to continue that
Fair enough. I suppose I agree with you entirely. But it's not as though he's gone 5 years without facing a certain skill set or anything so I think it's too soon to be thinking like that... Not to defend the Kirkland fight (seriously wish it were Bundrage for his 154 IBF).
The Kirkland fight is essentially out of necessity - there is no question Cotto ended negotiations in hopes of Mayweather rematch. Who else can Canelo fight? Andrade? Bundrage? Yes, possibly. It is important to understand that HBO has probably taken a significant investment in bringing him back. They want to reintroduce him to their audience with an all action KO fight that he is likely to win. There's no question that this fight is dynamite. I fully expect his next opponent to be Cotto. Or even Mayweather at 155 if he defeats Cotto.
Canelo certainly doesn't duck anybody and is a very good young fighter.... but he definitely lost 2 of those 3 fights...and probably lost to Trout. He's only 24, definitely can get better and become an elite fighter.
I rated him too until he showe4d his true colours in the Mayweather-Maidana II match. He was blatantly stopping Maidana from fighting his fight while allowing Mayweather Carte Blanche to do as he wished. The straw to break the camels back was when Bayless took a point from Maidana for elbows. Floyd had been doing it all fight long & Maidana finally had enough of that & the bias officiating & finally reciprocated. Also the look on Bayless face when Floyd screamed like a woman in labor " He BIT ME !!!!! was priceless. A real " How do I get out of this one" look Bayless reputation is shot he's another Joe Cortez
Oh & by the way Smoak Havent you got the intelligence to argue a point about boxing without using profanities & attempted insults??? It sure doesn't look like you have
