I really rate burns i just think maybe we've seen the best of him as I said b4 when kev and burns sparred down at Canning Town b4 john Murray fight and he knocked kev around the ring kev said he didn't realise how good burns was very underrated fighter. Ricky smashed Kevin Mitchell when both at their peak and Kevin Mitchell will never get near Ricky's achievements in boxing. Great performance from Kevin Mitchell last night but I still see a brutal KO when he eventually gets a World Title shot.
I for one wondered if Mitchell had a performance like that left, well done great fight fought. I dont know much about Estrada but he seems (to me) like Degales last 2 opponents Gonzales and Periban, came over with enough of a reputation to entitle us to expect a test, instead left wondering how they gained such fearsome reputations when they show nothing while being used as a stepping stone
I dont think he ruins him would be a closer fight I think burns being in mitchells camp has improved Mitchell I think he sees the way ricky trains and realises that to be a champ he has to put the work in like burns does and its paying off great performance even though I thought he telegraphed so many big right hands wouldn't get away with it against top opposition, Mitchell has the power to stop most of the champs at lightweight though I think he will become world champ and rightly so
This post just goes to show if Ricky Burns was english youd a been praising him to the heavens !!!!! Yes kevin was good but dont over hype it as that estrada was know where near the same level he was when he fought Figueroa , Stevie Wonder could have seen they left hooks and uppercutts coming and any boxer worth there salt would have taken half a step back and stepped in and punched kevin into row z as them lefts at times were reckless haymakers , at world title fight level he will get the same ending as he got vs both katsidis and burns
