Training for taller competition

    I'm 6'2
    Walk around weight is 230
    I train down to 218 because I have a style as a slick boxer mover jabbing scoring from the outside so I work best at that size.

    Now in the event I fight someone who is coming in at 6'6 should I try and train as bob & weave fighter,work on getting in the inside and rough him up

    or
    Rely on my jab and footwork,time his jab and counter and simply outmaneuver him?

    I feel like coming in with good headmovement and working the body couldn't hurt either..
    What do you all think?

    That could entirely depend on reach difference.

    If he has a longer reach, your not gonna enjoy trying to outbox him.

    I mean, he could not know how to really use his advantage for the better ya know.

    hope he isn't as athletic as you and have equal hand speed. Those 2 ingredients for a big man will cause complete hell.

    Understanding distance is pretty important. You want to be out of range barely, so you can close in one step. Make him lead and slip in.
