    Only on Planet Klitschko.

How in the hell does Wlad "show a very good chin" in a fight where he didn't hear the bell for the third round?

You really ought to stop shooting up the Heroin...

Wait so not getting knocked senseless shows good chin?

I've never seen it that way.

If you get messed up to the point where you can't fight well anymore then thats all that matters

Wlad never really recovered from the time he first got rocked so to me he didn't show good chin.

    Nothing to deal with, dude.

    He was KO'd in two.

But it was his defence that let him down.

    Not his chin.

Louis was not KO'd early by one Schmeling punch. He eat loads of them shots over 8 ,9 rounds before eventuality going away.

Wlad got cracked once and he was done.

Khan wasn't blown out by Prescott cos of chin. It was a defence issue . LMAO

    No, I don't.

You sound like you have trouble reading ?

Where did I even mention Khan ?

What has any of this to do with Khan ?

Khan has, on numerous occasions, shown a shaky chin.

Wlad has not. Just part of the lore that has built up, fuelled by witless fukcwits like dino.

I know what you're getting at but I simply refuse to believe Wlad has a good chin magically all of a sudden.

Theres a reason he clinches the way he does.

The reason I mentioned Khan is that Khan fans will say that he actually has a good chin and that the reason he gets wobbled so much is due to due to bad defense.

Maybe his defense isn't the best and that would be the reason he gets hit so much but that doesn't change the fact that Khan just doesn't have a great chin.

I think the same can be said for Wlad. His clinching and defense has allowed him to have success despite his chin but I still think that if he got into a war he'd get sparked out.

Povetkin fight. Concrete proof even the man himself knows his chin is made of the thinest glass imaginable.
Protect that chin at any cost. Bends every rule in the book to protect it.

    I'm not claiming he's iron-chinned.

However, I think that his chin has gotten a lot of bad press on account of what happened against Sanders.

My point is that ANY HW who let himself get caught with what Sanders landed in rd 1 would have been tits up.

    And earlier than Wlad did.

In getting up several times, I think he showed that his chin was not the issue. He has never failed to beat the count.

Unlike Frazier, Lewis, Louis, Duran and others, who are not tagged with the same slight.

In two of his three losses, it was very obviously fatigue, stemming from poor stamina, an issue he seems to have resolved.

The only event pointing to chin concerns is the Sanders KO. And I believe his chin was less the issue there than his defence.

Before that bout, he did frequently engage much less cautiously (Mercer, Schultz, McCline).

No, Wlad is not Chuvalo nor Cobb nor McColl.

But his chin is no worse, and probably better than Lewis' or Frazier's or a good many other HW champions.

The village idiot has arrived !

    Rahman KO'd Lewis, and for a 10-count.

And Sanders banged harder than Rahman.

Rahman took Sanders best shots and he is hardly known for his iron chin. Plus it wasn't that big of a shot that did the initial damage anyway, Sanders threw a straight left which caught Wlad as he was moving backwards, so it's not like he even walked onto it or anything, plenty of fighters would have taken that shot from Sanders.

The punch that Rahman KO'd Lewis was a full power right hand that landed flush on the point of chin against an out-of-shape, exhausted Lewis, it was a much more devastating punch than the ones Wlad took from Sanders.

The things people forget is that Sanders was hitting Wlad with his fists and in the other direction(Wlad head goes) was facing Sanders head, there was plenty of headbutts. Thats the cut coming from.

Not to mention Wlad didnt know how to properly use the clinch and how to enter it. That would be another easy night for Wlad from 2006+.
Tho this lose only make him stronger.
And for the hit, its about where you are hit, how your balance is, on what foot your weight is and so on. Wlad was caught, he was moving forward and trying to deliver, but Sanders was faster and caught him, just like Pulev caught him with the jab. In that way punch become a lot more powerfull.
Everyone can have bad nights, its happen in boxing and in martial arts. If you took fight lightly or just 1 moment of inattention and its sleep night.
And its kinda stupid to say this guy and this guy is not good enough or wont beat this guy, cause his chin is not from iron.
Cain Velasques, the best HW in the MMA have kinda weak chin, but he is unbeatable at the moment. He have 1 moment of careless and Dos Santos land and was sleep night. Tho Velasques come back better and beat Dos Santos pretty bad 2 times. Whanever he was in trouble he is the clinch ... He use the clinch also to tire Dos Santos and as tactical weapon.
Wlad after Manny have all the tools in the game and if he have good night, he can beat all.
