GGG v Murray

Murray has the benefit of watching how the others failed. So he will know what not to do. Murray will shell up behind his big arms, hoping that his physical bulk will enable him to absorb Golovkins shots. He will clinch and spoil at every opportunity. All these factors may enable him to SURVIVE a bit longer than Geale, Macklin etc, but that's about all. It's hard to see Murray, with his negative style and low output winning a round here.

 

Well with his limited ability, martin has only a very limited range of tactics that he can bring to this fight, or any other. What else can he do? He has to use what strengths he does have...primarily a decent jab, big physique, and tight clam shell defence. There isn't much more to Murray really, is there? I repeat...What else can he do?

The leopard can't change his spots, and Murray will just box in his normal fashion in this fight. People can therefore expect a slow, plodding conservative performance from Martin Murray, because that's what you get from Martin Murray.

 

Barring some extraordinary fluke or GGG having a serious off-night a Murray defeat is inevitable.

 

People have to bear in mind that Murray was forced into his shell by the relatively non-devastating Sturm. Also with Sergio there for the taking, Murray just couldn't find it in him to go up through the gears.
Lack of physical skills is only half the story with Murray. He also lacks any real 'passion' for boxing. The sort of engine, heart and passion we saw so often in Macklin fights is just not there in Martin Murrays dry sterile plodding performances. Watching him you get the impression Murrays heart isn't really in it. He lacks the bit of real spark needed for ultimate success.
This was obvious in the fights with Sergio, Sturm Khomitsky.

 

You see, Matt went out on his shield, like a true warrior.
Watch how Murray goes out against GGG. Pound-to-a-penny he will be stopped on his feet, choosing to opt out when the going gets tough. Just you wait and see.
