IMO you can't put Jones and Wlad in the same era. Jones best years were between 1993 and 2003. Klitschko's best years were between 2005 and 2015 (undefeated). They belong to different eras.

Hopkins could be included in both eras (his best years were between 1995 and 2005, but then had very good wins until 2010).

I think it would be better to establish a time frame and classify the best fighters from them:

    2000-2005:
    1. Jones
    2. Hopkins
    3. Lewis
    4. Barrera
    5. Mayweather

    2005-2010
    1. Pacquiao
    2. Mayweather
    3. Hopkins
    4. Calzaghe
    5. Marquez

    2010-2015
    1. Mayweather
    2. Pacquiao
    3. W. Klitschko
    4. Marquez
    5. Ward

The list needs quite a few more names. I voted for Klitscho, if we count the last 10 years as our era then he has a perfect undefeated record against All up n comers.

This is an educated post, but the purpose of this thread is not to decide who was best at a certain point in time, but to compare overall greatness. Save that I pretty much agree with your ranking. During 2000-2005 I think Lewis should be ahead of Hopkins, though. That's the period of time when he fought Vitali Klitschko and Mike Tyson. I know Tyson was faded, but it was a fight the fans asked for.

Floyd and Pacman are pretty close resume wise. Those wins of Barrera when MAB was best in his division and Morales are significant, but tend to get overrated when both Mexican legends were already on the slide, especially Morales. Erik had just recently lost to Raheem, a difficult style, but one Morales would of beaten in his better days. Once I knew Morales wasn't getting past Raheem, I knew he was ripe for the taking for Pacman. Hell, actually he WAS supposed to be ripe for the taking after Pacman destroyed MAB and almost blitzed Jmm in one round, but El Terrible still had enough for one more moment of greatness and beat Pacman. Had Pacman beaten a prime Morales, there'd be no question his resume smokes Floyd's, but that isn't the case. Post Raheem, Erik was done.

Are you by chance related to Hamed or something?
No disrespect but you sound delusional. Hamed was a can crusher who crumbled under pressure. Hamed feasted on bums until he accidentally cherry picked Marco Antonio Barrera whom he thought was past it after so many wars. The guy never beat a single hall of fame fighter so how could he even be considered for one of the best fighters of this era. Let me repeat. Hamed never beat a single hall of fame fighter. He got bittchedslapped by MAB and retired. :nut:patsch

Please stay on topic, we're not discussing Haye, Hopkins, and Klitschko we're discussing Hamed. I could care less whether he (Hamed) was arrogant, thats irrelevant when discussing a fighters accomplishment. I don't care what Foreman says and even if he did say that about Hamed Hamed never came to to fulfilling those potential.
Answer this question. Yes or no
Did Hamed ever beat a hall of fame fighter?

You gotta look at it this way:

Morales had beaten Pac before, so he had the experience and mental edge going in... and Morales didn't take some vicious beating from Raheem that would have "shot" him.

Bungu and Vasquez are considered legends only in you head. If they were legends their names will be enshrined in canastota. I'm not even a Calzaghe fan but its an insult to him to compare that can crusher to him. Hammed will be lucky crack the top 50 fighter of the last 20 years let alone anywhere around the top 10. I don't give a **** what he did at featherweight unless he beat MAB, Morales, Pac, or Chris John. Those where the top featherweight of that era and Hamed only fought one of those guys (cherry picking gone wrong) getting his ass kicked in the process.

Funny you admit hall of fame credentials are not important to you. That tells me everything I need to know about your boxing. You literally DKSAB.:patsch
Do me a favor, don't bother replying. I hate dealing with fanboys.

I think Mayweather has the edge for now, but he avoided the most dangerous, so its debatable. All six are hall of fame fighters.

    I would rank them:

1 ) Mayweather - Best skills of the bunch, with no major weakness.

2 ) Pacquaio - He could diminish his standing if he fights on after losing to Mayweahter. OR if he some how beats Mayweaather he could be #1.

3 ) Wlad - Dominating a division. Has not lost in 10 years. Fights all comers

4 ) Jones. At his best he was great. KO losses and staying in the game too long hurt his standings. Much better in the 1990's, its now 2015.

5 ) Clazaghe. Never lost. But his competition is likely the worst of the lot. Then again you could say he beat Hopkins and Jones.

6 ) Hopkins - Didn't beat great fighters, but winning at middle and light heavy was impressive.

I'd put Bernard Hopkins above Roy Jones Jr and Joe Calzaghe, save that I agree. I don't think there will be an upset when (if) Manny Pacquaio and Floyd Mayweather fights - Floyd will win. But if Manny somehow lands a lucky punsch this place will go crazy. But Floyd wouldn't be Floyd if he allowed that.

I notice that the voice of the people is that Wladimir Klitschko is greater than Roy and Bernard. That's cool. When you read the debates here on ESB, it's easy to get the impression that Wlad is not highly regarded :smoke

Yea he did have the experience and wit to beat Pacman, but physically he wasn't the same. Erik had already been in wars by the time he faced Pacman and Raheem, many thought he and Barrera wouldn't be the same after the classic war they had in the first fight, which was by far the best of their trilogy. In the Rahman fight he had some flab on him and then on after never was able to shed that flab off. His timing was off, it just didn't seem like the same passionate, IDGAF, fearless fighter Morales was known for. He just looked like he was there to collect a check. Rumors were he had a drinking problem and going thru marital problems, whatever. He only fought in spurts, clearly not the same great fighter he once was at 122-126. Still good enough to give Swift Garcia and pre-Garcia Maidana a good scare.
