I bet you still have to pay three sanctioning fees though. These *******s all used to be one organization until like 1980.
it is simple Haymon is putting boxing on several platforms, Free to air and basic cable and buying time to do so on these platforms. In a hope that it does good numbers and boxing can sold has a multi channel package sport, like NFL,NBA English Soccer. Where a massive TV number can buy aka Haymon boxing for a fixed price over a number years and Haymon boxing provides content on these channels and there is massive change if this works and Haymon can just make his own title AKA like the UFC. WBA,WBC,WBO and IBF are left out in the cold because Haymon doesn't need them because he has a massive tv contract worth more than HBO and Showtime combined per year.
I really hope they do come up with one belt, this will be the greatest news ever!. Got to wonder if the WBA will try and add a dosage of "World" versions to it.
I heard that they want to complain to the International Olympic Committee about AIBA supposedly trying to have a monopoly over boxing.
Get rid of all the silver and super champs ...And this would be a great idea ..And once again the WBO will be left high and dry
Tournaments never work. You have people pull out, then have replacements, injuries etc. just a big mess. Will never happen.
Imagine how awesome this would be? It would fix many of the problems with the sport. People would be less reticent and less able to avoid each other. If they wanted to be world champion they couldn't go the Wilder route that's become really popular.
They'd probably keep all the silver champion belts - and they'd then be challengers for the real title.
