I do take your links into consideration, but I'm also a critical thinker.

If I think your argument is irrelevant or illogical, then I don't care about the source you use to support it. This is where you lost me on the Holyfield topic, because it was a logical jump that you were willing to make but I wasn't (i.e. "If Roy tried to fight Holyfield then he didn't duck anyone else").

If your argument is relevant, then I look to see if your source is credible. This is where you lost me on the Liles topic, because while Liles pulling out of an agreed-upon fight would be compelling, I just can't bring myself to believe that Halloran (or HBO) is being 100% honest. Maybe Liles couldn't take the HBO offer at the time because he had another fight scheduled, or maybe there were stipulations he couldn't agree to. Maybe his coach and him split up over a personal disagreement and now his coach is trying to discredit him (this happens all the time).

If your argument is relevant and strong and your source is credible, then you've got a point and we can count it. I'm willing to be objective but you aren't going to get me to take a leap of faith and give Roy the benefit of the doubt for anything, because the evidence is strongly stacked against him the way I see it. That's the nature of objectivity. You're actually insisting that I be subjective. :good

Not once in this opinionated rant did you mention that you have to have sit down with all parties involved its negotiations 101 come on now ..Whether you liked the results of what happened or not a meeting took place to attempt to make the fight .

You act like Roy is the exception here and he simply is not. He just like so many others tried to make certain fights ..Did he back out of some yes but is he the first or the last no ,but his resume regardless of your opinion is actually better than those of some the guys you claimed he ducked .. But I know he's a broke idiot who doesn't know how to get fights done

Furthermore we KNOW Jones was an awful businessman because the deal he structured for the 2nd Hopkins fight he didn't even get paid as Hopkins was guaranteed all his money first and the fight bombed on PPV. :rofl

I'd have a better chance trying to explain this to a dog.

You're saying that Evander couldn't fight Roy in 1998, because of a potential fight with Lennox. So you're implying that had he have already fought Lennox, he'd have taken the fight. Which isn't true.

But you're saying it is, based on the fact that he was willing to fight him in 2003. Yet you fail to mention Evander's specific reasoning in 1998, and the difference in circumstances in 2003.

    It's as simple as this:

In 1998, Evander had got nothing to gain, and everything to lose.

In 2003, Evander had nothing to lose, and everything to gain.

If Roy had beaten in him in 1998, it would have been embarrassing for him.

But in 2003, he'd already been beaten, he was past his best, and he'd have had a chance to win his old title back.

I appreciate everyone's circumstances are different.

But go and read the excerpt. It doesn't say what you are claiming.

Now we know why you're saying that the meeting was a waste of time. You're saying it, so you don't have to give Roy credit for pushing for it. Because that doesn't suit your agenda.

Now regarding who Roy fought, how can you dismiss every link that I've put forward?

You've also been shown a video where HBO (who crucified Roy at times) backed Roy when he said he'd offered a number of fighters seven figures to fight him.

We've got an interview from Jack O'Halloran telling of his disappointment that Liles turned down Roy.

We've got numerous links where Kerry Davis of HBO tried to bring Dariusz to the U.S.

We've got links showing how Bernard priced himself out in 2002.

So how can you ignore all of that information?

We've got actual proof that efforts were made to fight Evander, Dariusz, Liles and Hopkins.

When those fights couldn't be made, he was obligated to fight his mandatories.

After he'd beaten Reggie to unify, he had mandatory obligations from three different organisations.

So what exactly was he supposed to do?

How was it his fault that guys like Woods and Frazier etc were made number one contenders?

What would anybody else have done in his position?

At the end of the day, all of my evidence outweighs your biased opinions.

King offered Benn & Jones $25,000,000 each. Jones turned it down.. Jones then offered Benn a measley $10,000,000 in comparison but Benn would've had to pay that in court for breaking contract with King..

At the time Roy was on about $250,000 a fight and Nigel was on about £1,750,000 a fight (about $3,500,000?)..

    :patsch

Roy's advisor, Greg Fritz, phoned Jim Thomas up and asked for a meet. He and Roy then went to Atlanta to meet with Thomas and Evander.

Brad Jacobs and Kerry Davis worked hand in hand to try and get the Dariusz M fight.

You just assume that because the fights didn't happen, Roy was to blame.

For a fight to be signed, all parties have to be happy. And there's a hell of a lot happening behind the scenes, that the public don't get to hear about. In 2003, Jim Thomas couldn't agree with Don King and Murad Muhammad regarding the split of the upside of the PPV.

Why do you keep bringing the Sanders fight up? Roy wanted huge money to remain at HW. He wanted more than what he'd been paid for Ruiz.

Eubank was on £1,250,000 a fight without any US TV (eight-fight Sky tv deal for £10M), & Collins was guaranteed £1M a fight ($2M?).. against Thomas Tate Jones made $175,000.. Who were the stars in the situation (Eubank was the one who started it all, the Tv deals, the ring entrances..)

    Unbelievably so.

    Absolute BS!

You're not going to think that any link is credible.

Because if you did that, you'd have to admit you'd been harsh, or worse still, wrong.

You're not man enough to admit you were either wrong, or you hadn't been aware of something.

There's no logical reason for anyone not to believe HBO or O'Halloran.

    So I'm going to pass.

Because if I took the time to post up link after link, you're just going to say "I don't believe it."

So what would be the point in me going to the trouble of uploading them?

And we also know that he got to the top on his own terms, and he fought on HBO around 30 times.
